Default Kaizen cup holder: too small, pass

Just wanted to share, bit the bullet. $93 - it is nice quality, but still $93. Liked the idea of getting the 992 cup holder.

So out of the box, it doesn't fit... anything. It's basically the size to fit a skinny can, think Celsius, High Noon, etc. Wouldn't fit the bottom of the narrow end on any travel mug I have. Which is crazy because it just need a smidge more taper and it would have.

Add to that, I tried to install anyways and pulling up the carbon center console trim is... hard. It was very stubborn and I stopped before costly self inflicted wounds ensued.

I love the idea, the design could be improved and maybe I'd go take on the install for the benefit.

That tiny center console space, as you said, is useless. I have the 7 speed manual transmission and shifting with anything in the holder is right in the way of your elbo. Really expensive also….

Agreed. I thought with some walls to the cup holder, it could have some more utility. I am on a PDK, so slightly less in the way. I tried putting a radio there during a ride and it was in the way and all over the place.

Wish there was something that could go in there that was sort of useful.

As a counterpoint: it fits a 500ml bottle of water perfectly. (Water is the ONLY liquid I allow in my Porsche.)

Yes water bottle I can see fitting as well. I just couldn’t justify it for the bottle of water or Celsius can.

Ive used these on current 991.2 911T, prior BMW's - they work great

I’m a psycho so I really like to keep the OEM look. I know these are functional, but I cannot get around it being a bicycle bottle cage hung on our super nice cars. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This guy has been out of business for at least 2+ years. No response on any form of communication.
