I have listed my 991 for sale here: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1424699

Painful to do so, but hoping this one goes to another caring owner.

for some crazy reason - giving serious thought to a boat - our family spends a lot of time in Lake Havasu - most times we rent a bout while there and thought maybe we give it a try (boat owndership).

for a similar experience to boat ownership just take a cold shower while burning $100 bills, the end state will be about the same

UGH i wish you had decided on the boat 7 months earlier!!! This would have been my dream new to me spec. The steering wheel could be easily swapped out.

good luck with sale!

Boat ownership doesn’t have to be expensive if you get the right boat and motor. I’ve owned three Pontoon boats with Yamaha outboards and never spent a dime on anything but routine maintenance. There’s not much to go wrong with a Pontoon boat. The newer Tritoons with 200 Hp will run about 40 mph. I rarely go over 25mph unless I’m trying to outrun a storm.

Boats in general are a true money pit, unless you live on a lake or causeway and can just walk down, jump in and go. The best boat is one your bud owns and can go out on it with him.

Nice 991.1! I have a very different take on boat ownership... I purchased my first inboard 20' Ski Brendella ski boat used in 1992. Paid $13k, sold it in 2007 for $10k. Other than maintenance pretty cheap entertainment. Purchased a new 22i Tige' ski boat in 2007 for $43k... sold it in 2017 for $39k. Again pretty cheap entertainment. Purchased a new Z3 23' Tige' wake boat in 2017 for $80k. Now looking at a one year old Tige' Z5 25' wake boat for $150k... dealer offering what I paid for my 2017 in trade. See the pattern here? As the new boats keep going up in price it drags the value of the older boats up. This is probably a niche market specific to inboard wake boats and probably doesn't apply to other types. I also take great care of my boats--everyone thinks my 7 year old boat is a year or two old. Wiped down after every use, detailed and waxed regularly and kept in a heated, insulated shop in the off season and in a covered dock on a lift with a fitted cover during the summer. I average about $400--600 per year in maintenance/repairs.

I've heard all the old jokes...
"What is a boat? A hole in the water you throw money in!"
"What does BOAT stand for? Bust Out Another Thousand!"
"2 best days of boat ownership? The day you buy it and the day you sell it!"

Not for me. Worth every penny and love being a boat owner...

Talking Keep the car...and!!!

Rent a boat!!!!

It is said, "The 2 best days of boat ownership, the day you buy it, and the day you sell it." I have also heard, " When you sell it your wallet will be significantly lighter than the day you bought that boat."

Yeah I here y'all with respect to boats and the moeny pits they can be. Hoping to buy one 'correctly' in that one that is mostly 'stock' and not hot rodded.

Mixed emotions - did take a deposit on the car - essentially it is sold. Again, with mixed emotions.

Best,
Chris
