Changing oil on the 911 is the easiest I have ever done. At $7/qt, you have $75 in parts. Why wouldn’t you do it?

My car did 0.4 miles in the last year. I replaced the oil and the tires (2018 date codes). Pay to play.

Oil is cheap, motors are expensive. Do you need to change once a year? Part of the answer is what do you have to give up to do it or what do you gain by not doing it? At the cost of not getting the full life out of my oil the chance to get under the car for a look see and just feeling like I'm doing the car a favor fully reimburses me.

Reaches a point in life when your HEAD says you can change your own oil, BOBY just laughs....

Thanks for the humor this morning :-) Indeed. Has been depressing having my car in storage while I'm out of the country. Going to enjoy the next few weeks driving it while I am here on vacation.

Cheers!

Guess I’m a member of the “getting old” group, because I just cannot understand why any 911 owner would question the need for an oil change or only drive it 3K miles a year.
FWIW - some of us Old Guys change the oil every 5K miles and actually get the car on the road. The plaques & trophies have been in storage boxes for a long time and investments are certainly not in sheet metal :-)
