Ordered a set of Musicar tweeters a few years ago and was very impressed with the quality of the pieces, the packaging, and the service.

In retrospect, I wish I had ordered Stage 2 with the sound deadening for the doors—but I ended up sticking with stock Bose at the time as none of the systems on the market addressed what I view as the real need for anyone who has PCM: The ability to adjust the system to one's own preferences, with an EQ beyond PCM's pathetic treble/bass settings or, worse, no settings at all with CarPlay, Pandora, etc. Something between PCM's outputs and the factory amp (or a better amp) would be very appealing indeed. A local installer suggests we can tune a new amp, but that's a one-time deal with his laptop. Looking for something I can adjust from time to time, as in the old days of hi-fi.

@Jim M. thanks for sharing the info and pics.

I have done a Dynamat/MLV installation in my overlanding truck and had 'fun' refitting the carpets - did you have any problems refitting the carpet over the MLV, particularly getting it under any trim pieces?

Grills, you will need to find them used on ebay or new from a dealership.

i haven't purchased anything from them yet, but I believe you have to call musicar directly

https://musicarnw.com/contact/

you should be able to use existing grilles, no?

Looks like suncoast carries them, too, I almost feel compelled to order the grilles now!

(I have graphite blue interior, and I could just see them being really hard to find on ebay.)

There was a member on here that had extra grills in the brown and blue colors. Maybe do a WTB post?

ok, just to clarify...

Actual burmester tweeter is a ribbon array, attached to a flat plate. That one needs the burmester grille.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKUBERTWEET.html

The morel tweeter from musicar looks to be a round one, but it looks like it should fit into the stock grille. No?

(see post #33 in this thread)

EDIT: Nevermind. looks like it's also attached to a flat plate. The pic is of the old tweeter, I reckon.

Yea the Burmester grill has a larger opening that isnt blocked off allowing the sound of the tweeter to come throught.

My understanding of Musicar’s latest offering is that they switched to an amp from Audiotec Fischer that has a fantastic DSP and lets you really fine tune your sound. Yes, this is done while wired to a laptop, but you can load DSP files into the amp that will give you a great starting point. Once dialed in not much fiddling required. I have one of these amps in my BMW and they are infinitely adjustable.

you can definitely use your own laptop to open the software and mess with the EQ settings using a mic and REW to measure everything. Looks something like this.
