Feeling sad
That I sold my 2014 basalt black 4s NA 911.1 in 2016 for 85k. I’m now contemplating buying it back and holy moly it’s the same price! Is this real? Do you all think this is a good deal? I’ve been looking at 992s but the engine being non NA just doesn’t do it for me and no one is going to sell me a GT touring car at msrp.

I bought a 2013 4S Cabriolet earlier this month that is essentially the same spec and miles for a similar price. It has standard interior (in contrast to yours) but is CPO (also in contrast to the one above). I had been searching for several months and in my opinion, the price they are asking for yours is consistent with market. My advice to you is to forget about 2016 prices, even though I totally agree that it is a tough pill to swallow. 2016 is a completely different era, and the impact of inflation (both in the car market and generally in the macroeconomy) has brought everything to a new, permanently higher price level. That said, I still think that car at that price represents a lot of car for the money when you think about what it would cost to get a newer NA 911 (i.e., a GT car). I say this as the owner of a GT3 Touring as well. I absolutely love the 991.1 Carreras and think they are massively under appreciated.

I'm going to play both sides of the fence here, so bear with me.
I'm a nostalgic/sentimental person, I love to live in the memories and experiences of the past, it's almost a high for me. I love it, sometimes it's good and other times it's not. With that being said, why'd you sell it? Maybe it was time to move on?...who knows, only you and that's fine. If you want to relive and keep reliving those experiences, go for it. You could venture out and get a different experience. Whether it be a different spec .1, move into a 991.2/992. Weigh your options. Whatever you decide is the best option.
On the other side, 85k back then and 85k now. You're making out better if you buy it back. It's, on paper, the same. But in reality, it's worth less due to inflation, etc...

I bought back my 2003 Boxster after 10 years. Enjoyed fixing and modding it, but only drove it 5,000 miles over the next 5 years. Sold it and bought my currently 991.2. I’m daily driving the 991 and have already driven it 2,000 miles in two months.
My point being is you might enjoy something newer and different rather than your old car.

As info , i might be selling my black 911S cab delivered in 2012 NA 991.1 next year if you can wait. It has almost all options and some only found on Turbos - PDCC. Metallic Black with luxor beige interior.
buying yours back might be subject to dealer asking based on location and desirability in your area .

Yes -PDCC is on mine 911S 3.8l carrera . Works exceptionally well. Just this year had it serviced as the reservoir was replaced and new fluid. In any situation car remains flat with no lean. However i have never put it on a track , and nether did prior owner. It was originally optioned and bought by VP of PCNA. Guess he had some method of getting PDCC added during the build

Always that Would Have Should Have approach. :P) If I would have bought google back when it was $30/share I would have $200 million today....lol. Only if we could go back in time right....

Price seems very high for a cab
I think that seller pays retail and then marks up 15%. That being said, I dated a girl for many years then dumped her. I then married her 25 years ago. It took some space to realize she was a keeper. Ymmv.

There's always that one car that "got away" that we always wish we could have back.
In my opinion, its better to reminisce over the car, vs trying to get back the feeling you once had.
Ex: I had a Audi B8 that i poured my heart and soul into, sold it to buy a Subaru STI.. To this day i regret it and wish i could buy it back, but it paved the way for the future (911 ownership!)
