Question Sticky leather??

Posted in the Turbo forum but I figured Id ask here as well
I have red leather 18 way seats in this car and they are what I would call tacky. They grab the fabric on my pants and its difficult to slide in and out of the seats. Is this common as I didnt have that in my 14 way black seats in the 4s? Should I be treating the red ones with something?

Same thing on my Boxster Spyder, I believe mine were redyed in the past, when I clean them the rag picks up a lot of red.

My bordeaux leather is perforated but not tacky at all. Cleaning with Colourlock is easy and no color is released.

I don't have that issue with black leather. But using this and it works well for a month or two.

Amazon Amazon

Helps a little bit with blue jeans getting on white seats in a different car.

I can't imagine what it might be other than someone putting some sort of leather conditioner on it that caused this after perhaps sitting for awhile. To me it kind of sounds like what happens if you put Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil on seats and then don't do what the instructions say, which is to then clean it off. So, I suspect something in the dealer prep (this is the car you were waiting on for awhile, yes?). Or, maybe a well meaning person slathered it with some sort of saddle soap-y something or other that caused it.

First I'd get some microfiber rags
Then dampen them slightly
Wipe all seats and leather down
Then get Leather Masters Soft Cleaner -- and using the microfiber rags --- apply to seat. This product is very gentle but effective and I use it on the natural espresso leather in mine (depending upon which red you have it might also be the "natural leather". )
A light touch is important don't rub it hard and def don't rub it with anything abrasive.
Do this twice or so. Maybe it'll help?

BTW that product is all I use to clean leather in the nice cars... it's super.

(Or take it to a v good detailer to remedy)

I always have dumb issues like this with previously owned cars I've bought.

Thanks Nash you are correct. I imagine it went just like you said, they did their "detail" and then it sat in a 80+ degree environment for a month closed up. I have Colorlock cleaner coming as I had success with that in the past but left it down south. Plan is to clean them a couple times and go from there.

Sounds like they could have been dyed in the past, Especially if it's only on the bottom cushion and not the back. My steering wheel was dyed in prior ownership and it is wearing horribly. I would caution in using a cleaner as it could make it worse. If you try a small spot and it comes up red on the towel then that's what it is.
Factory leather will not transfer color.

2017 C2S with 14-way Bordeau perforated leather seats with heating and cooling. No sticky seat leather. But I have some scuff marks on the bottom cushions that I don't know how to treat or repair.

The leather is abraded or something transferred color to the seat?

Abraded slightly due to items in rear pockets and denim jeans. I'm thankful there are no tears in the leather. My car is a "Driver" not a show car but I try to keep it looking good, too.
