We just did this service on a friends 991.2 That price sounds reasonable. He got a dealership quote for close to $5K, but their labor cost was $319/hr, which to me is crazy. We did it over a weekend in the garage. Total parts cost was $500 from FCP. Definitely harder to work on then a 996/997 but not horrible and it was great to save $4,500.

You haven't mentioned PDK service which is due at 12 year unless it's a manual of course.

Don't have an indy by me, but I just moved to this area so will keep up the search. May need to join my local PCA and get the scoop. Where I lived before, there were two very reputable indy shops that did great work.
