Default First Porsche. Not bad at all.

Tried to buy a new C8. Kinda hated it. Cramped. Busy.
Wife talked me into trying a 2023 911. I actually fit in the damn thing. Driving it was something else.
Thought I'd buy a new one with ED after a few year wait and get a 991 in the meantime. However, when I drove the 991 I found I liked it a lot more. The interior. The exterior. The analog gauges. Can't stand so many LCDs. I want to feel like I'm driving my car, not sitting in my office. So 991 it is. No 992.1 and definitely no 992.2

Test drove a few. Researched options.

Ater an agonizingly long week of searching for a car, a 991.2 showed up on my radar at a dealer that didn't even have pictures posted. They texted a few over and I immediately planned a 4 hour drive to see it. I hadn't wanted a black interior, but the black interior with the white body color trim inside worked for me.

It checked nearly every box:
Carrera S
White exterior (wanted white or silver)
18 way vented seats
Sport exhaust, RAS, chrono
Low mileage: 13k
Full leather interior
Sunroof delete (Though I wonder if it really has more headroom this way, if you're sitting up and forward a bit.)
CPO
And the RS Spyder wheels really sold it to me, even though I vowed to never buy hard to clean wheels again.

It did not have the front lift feature, but so far it hasn't scraped in the places I was worried about.

I read the entire hot for sale thread, and think I did OK. I've seen a few with less features priced higher since.

It has a few little issues: Poorly applied PPF is peeling in the corners. I figure I'll razor the edges off then just get rid of it when it looks worse. The stripe is on top the PPF, so I'll have to make a decision there as well. Fortunately it says PORSCHE so I don't forget what the car is.
Previous owner replaced the model stickers on the side without prepping first, leaving the outline of the factory lettering.
Didn't care for the pegasus, but my kid loves them, so on they stay.

Already tossed a little sound deadening in. Just a little.
Tint for the back window (still getting blinded by everyone behind me, the electrochromic mirror is weak)
Fixed the door guides.
Working on the dash tweeters. The Dayton swap was ok, but needs a lot more work. I'll post the solution to that when I find it.
Will get a programmer eventually for comfort windows and lighting the dash up.
Rattles and creaks are pretty bad, but I've been slowly solving them. The seat still has some creaking that nothing seems to touch so far.
Need a good alcantara cleaner, with only 3/4" of headroom my hair is definitely going to transfer skin oils to the headliner. Maybe ammo ****.
The door handle on this car is so low. I need to start practicing Yoga again.

Now I just wish I had more time to drive it.

After I told my brother I accidentally bought a 911 when I went to buy a C8, he went and bought a C8.

Pretty lucky to find the car you like after 1 week. Took me about 1 year. 😂

It took me over 2 years to find mine, but it was worth the wait. Congrats!

Same here. My old car got hit and my current car popped up while I was still early in the insurance process. Against the wishes of my better half, I acted on it and my new car arrived the day after my old one was hauled away to the body shop for estimates. It ended up that my car was totaled, so it all worked out. However, In the last 1.5 years I have not seen anything close to my spec come up. I am really happy that I went with my gut and took a chance to get what I wanted.

I ordered a C8 last year. Had it delivered from another state. Drove it for about a month and absolutely hated the car. Traded it in for a new M4 because I was in a hurry and couldn't find a 911 that I wanted and could afford. Fast forward 10 months later and took the M4 in for an oil change and saw a 911 in the showroom. Bought it right there... So be glad, you made the right choice.
Congrats and enjoy it.

I was on the C8 list for years. Hated the BS the dealers were pulling.
When the lists dried up and C8s were flooding the market, I had a change of heart.

Pulled my C8 deposit and picked up a 991.2!
Coming from a 996, wow what an upgrade.

U made the right choice.

Nice build! Congrats! I came from Corvettes a long time ago and never regretted looking back. I've been in C8s before and not a fan of the interior (or the exterior...or the WEIGHT).

You won't miss the FAL. There is only one place where I potentially scrape with SPASM an it's my driveway. I just leave at a 45 degree angle and all is good.

Beautiful 911!
