Default 991 PDK Differential removal?

I have a 991.2 GTS with PDK, and I'm pretty sure the LSD is worn out and I'd like to rebuild the friction plates. This is fairly easy with the transmission out of the car, but wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to remove a PDK differential from the car without dropping the transmission? It can be done on the mid-engine cars, and I've seen photos that make it seem possible on a 911, but it would be great to hear from anyone that has tried.

Pretty bad launch control performance or acceleration in 1st gear that leads to a one tire fire.

Figured if it's a pretty easy removal job, $400 for the friction discs would be a cheap refresher.
