Default Looking to pick up a 2012 C2S

Hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend!

Have the opportunity of picking up a well optioned, mint condition, CPO 2012 PDK C2S (dark blue metallic/black leather). One owner and insanely low miles at around 2k. While the CPO warranty brings me piece of mind, I'm on the fence here given the long term mechanical outlook on a car that has for the most part, never been driven and sat/garaged for most of its life.

I'm awaiting service records and list of items that may have been addressed/completed in preparation of sale. The concern here is that any of the known 991.1 issues (heater, change over valves) can come up well after the CPO warranty ends.
Given the options, extremely low miles and asking price of $84k, leaning toward making this happen. Would greatly appreciate your thoughts and advice.

Options:
176 Sport Exhaust System
250 Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
276 Automatically dimming mirrors
323 Adaptive Sport seats Plus (left)
324 Adaptive Sport seats Plus (right)
342 Seat heating (front)
352 Porsche Dynamic Chassis Cntrl
603 Porsche Dynamic Light System
630 Light design package
640 Sport Chrono Package
651 Electric sunroof
658 Power steering plus
680 BOSE(R) Surround Sound System
690 SiriusXM(R) & HD Radio(R) rcvr
693 6-disc CD/DVD changer
748 Electric folding ext. mirrors
840 SportDesign steering wheel
AZ Black leather interior
N4 Dark Blue Metallic
P07 Adaptive Sport Seats Plus
P37 BOSE
P3B Premium Package w 18-way seats
XRT 20-inch SportTechno wheel
XWK Sport Seats Plus backs leather
ZAB Ornamental Porsche Crest

Sounds like a good value.

I wouldn’t be worried about the low miles at all.
MSRP probably around 119 K?

Getting near $40K discount on a brand “new”car. CPO as well.

Obviously have everything checked by a qualified mechanic (PPI) and talk to him about what he saw and/or his concerns.

Keep us updated, send pix!

I’d be very concerned about a 12 year old car with 2,000 miles! $84,000 seems high for a car this old.

@riuscire7 - Check how much Fidelity Platinum Extended waranty coverage would be. Might be very reasonable due to the very low miles. Peace of mind. There is a link you can use on the Fidelity Megathread to get an instant quote. Would be interesting to know what it brings up! Post here if you do and why wouldn’t you check it out. No cost - no commitment. .

Here is the link for your convenience: https://factoryprotect.ratessys.com/ Use code RENNLIST for $200 discount code.

2K miles on a 12 year vehicle? If you plan on driving the 911, I'd argue a worked in example at about 30K miles would prove less problematic. A couple questions, is it at a Porsche dealership for sale now? Also what does the Car Fax look like? I'd also argue $84K for such a low mile "find another" 911 is too low?

Yes, at a Porsche dealership. Clean carfax, one owner and only lists registration entries over the years.
That was initial reaction to this extremely low mileage example as well, perhaps too low to make it a worthwhile purchase but not driven enough to have any issues sorted out.

Seems like it was a collector's car.
At this point in its sheltered life (2k and $84k) it should probably remain a collector's item.
The miles don't justify the price.

As someone that purchased a 2012 991.1 GQ four years ago with 13.6K on it, I would not have an issue with a ultra low mile car driven on average 150+- miles a year, but that's me. It was obviously owned by a collector, like me. I've driven mine about 450 miles (about 100 miles a year) but care for it like a DD. I don't think that the price is an issue if you don't intend to drive it much and preserve it for what it is. If you intend to DD it or put 5-7,000 miles a year on it then the price and theory of buying a virtual "new" twelve year old car does not make sense, in my opinion, yours may differ. I sold my 2016 C7 twelve months ago with 1,306 miles on it. Not sure what the buyer intended to do with it but DDing it for what he paid does not make sense - to me but might to him, don't really care. My current eight month old 2024 C8 has been driven 450 miles and will remain a "low" mile car. I have other vehicles that drive significantly more and enjoy also. Your cash, your final decision....good luck either way, sounds like a really nice car!

I was also looking at this exact car. Good luck to you. I think you beat me to it. I am also in the market for a .1.

It would be my primary car, but not daily driven. At most, 2-3k miles/year.

$87,000 for a 12 year old car that' isn't exactly a classic?
With an almost $90K budget you can get a lot of newer relatively low mileage 991's out there.
