Ka band only? Not me. I also have a Uniden R7 and it gave a strong and extended warning on X band traveling rural Louisiana. Turns out the local town's police were using X band radar.

I’ve got the Escort MAX Ci 360 installed in my 911 with a custom rearview mirror display. It’s great and you wouldn’t even know it was there if I didn’t tell you. I run the Drive Smarter app on Apple CarPlay and radar alerts are displayed on the PCM screen in addition to the mirror display.

Uniden R7 and Waze.
It’s not enough to just run Waze. You will be shocked at the number of cars you find when running both.
I also keep a pair of binoculars in the car. On long fast road trips, I put the passenger to work. It’s also a great way to get your kid off of their phone.

built in passport with a laser jammer. I have it on while driving on highways. Pennsylvania only had stationary speed traps and most of the danger of a speeding ticket comes from ubiquitous unmarked SUVs driven by the troopers for which radar provides no warning. It is my observation that driving while black or hispanic still seems to be a "crime" in Pennsylvabama as I have noticed that persons of color often seem to be parked in front of a trooper's vehicle at the side of the road.
Max speed is 70 on the pa turnpike and the troopers general won't bother you unless you exceed 80 mph - the statue provides that one must exceed the speed limit by 6mph before a citation may be issued. I know this is sacrilege, but, given the low level of driving competency as well as the high degree of nutcase aggressiveness and anger out there, I believe that one may substantially risk life and limb by driving above 80 mph in traffic.

I run with x band off as they do not use X band.
The v1g2 is very quiet, as it ignores most BMS. The v1g1 does not filter out BMS well.
Very happy with the v1g2 and will be upgrading my remaining v1g1 when back visiting in-laws.

Does anyone have an opinion about the Uniden vs V1? I had a V1 15+ years ago until it got stolen and I never replaced it. My new to me 911 is pre-hardwired to the rearview mirror, so I might as well get one but don't know anything about the current state of radars. Looking for few false alerts and I don't want to be bothered with running an app on my phone every time I drive (aside from waze which I use on road trips).

Have a friend that swears by his Radenso.
I am partial to V1.
JBV1 loads automatically when I turn the car on.
Nothing to do.
JBV1 then learns any 'false alarms' over time. Makes for a quiet ride.

Thanks. Seems like the JBV1 app is android only and not on iOS?

Mine is 80% city 20% highway. I get one false alarm at the same spot on my normal route. I believe there is a way to permanently silent that false but I haven't bothered. My previous was a gen one that was constant false alarms.
