991.1 (4) GTS 2015
Not new to the forum, but I am not well versed on current/later model year Carreras, as I typically keep to my kind over in the 718 forum.
Can you folks shed some light on the current market value for used examples from 2014-2015 991.1 GTS - maybe some tips on what to look for prior to buying, outside of getting a PPI report, and overrev if manual… Below is a listing my buddy has his eyes on, though it seems like it’s listed for $10K over market value, and the current owner paid under 100K for this car a little over a year ago, now asking 6K+ over his retail cost… why?

This is for a friend that has done a good bit of research on his end to narrow down his search to the 991.1 GTS; which Im sure wasn’t easy, and I wanted to do my part to assist him by reaching out to this community, in hopes of getting him into his first Porsche - I can sort of live vicariously through his buying process!
TY in advance for any knowledge you can drop on me to help a future P-Car owner - HNY!

I just drove a bunch of 991.1 S' and GTS'. Although I was looking a cabs.
I enjoyed the suspension in the GTS so much more, that's what I got. It's a great choice.
I ended up paying $93k for a 2016 CPO car with about the same amount of miles, but the paint was a bit rough.
I don't know what the premium/discount is on a coupe. But I'm guessing this car is a little overpriced.
Here is another black one for $92k in NC.

The $92K car is on the radar as well, though the pictures are a little suspect. The car either has stealth PPF, or the pics have been heavily corrected to not show the state of the paintwork. We will be asking for better pics... this isnt a major concern, as a decent paint correction isnt costly, with hopes there's enough clear coat on the car to perform this properly.

as mentioned above; 991.1 GTS models with NA 3.8 w/ power kit engines were MY 2015 & 2016.
however, you can still find MY 2014 "GTS-equivalent" 991.1 cars:
A) 50y Anniversary edition cars which had the both the power kit & the wide body.
B) highly optioned 991.1 Carrera S/4S cars which came equipped with the power kit & sport design package from factory.

Yes you have piqued my curiosity as well with this comment about NJ and Miami.
I can say the one car I bought from NJ (a Mercedes) turned out to be a complete disaster... and it was from a dealership who Doug Demuro had also bought at least 1 car from. I thought I was protected in the "enthusiast's tree of trust". Oh well.

It looked for a moment that .1 GTS cars were going to have a normal depreciation, but lately it seems they may do well as the last NA non-GT cars. Who knows. All I care about is I enjoy it. I would try to keep the mileage down as there are plenty to pick from if you have patience.

high Percentage of Scams
#of VIN DUPS, Story cars both places. Hialeah for instance has about 350 stolen vehicles a month. Russian business folks in both places are running lots of used cars put back together with bailing wire and duct tape. NJ between the weather, scams and lack of garages is just a bad plan. When you look at the numbers of cars with issues it is pretty scary. Most do not hit any official statistics.

I have to laugh at such a ridiculous generalization.
Weather ? Do you think we drive our Porsches in the snow and salt? My “ nice cars” never even see rain.
Is NJ the only state in the country or east coast that has bad weather (January-March)?
We don’t actually get much snow here.
Lack of garages? C’mon. That one doesn’t even make sense.
Russians? I don’t know any, but I’ll keep my eyes open for duct tape.
My best advice, no matter where you buy a car from, do your due diligence. There’s great vehicles and bad ones, no matter where you buy from.
