Hi, I have a 2013 911.1 C4S and for the last year I've been going through alarm activation errors that was ultimately traced to a faulty passenger door switch. Anyways, now that it's fixed, when I lock the car, there is no short horn beep. I can't remember if that's normal or not. The shop thinks the horn beep was a warning that not everything was right with the alarm and thus was my standard state for over a year.

When you lock your car, does it sound a short horn or not?

It has never come from the horn.


PS. The shop shouldn't "think", they should know.

 

The chirp sounds like any Audi SUV from a similar era. (more then likely the same part) I know my wife's SQ5 chirp and my 991's chirp are identical.

 

Your chirp comes from this device not the horn.

 

My '18 991 typically chirps once, and doesn't use the horn. How many times is it supposed to? Because sometimes it doesn't chirp at all.
