Overtemp

Overtemp
Our 2018 Targa 4S has had repeated “over temp” indications lately. (Water pump was replaced a few months ago). Added coolant once (abt 60 0z and all seemed ok. Now another couple of “overtemp” indications. After the most recent one I had it towed to dealership.
The dealership reports some “ coolant got into vacuum system that controls the cooling system” and they will have to replace the vacuum system that controls the cooling system.
Is this the same issue otherwise known as the crossover pipe problem or some such? - the fairly well-known problem in the 991’s - and frequently posted about on this forum- or is this something else?
trying to gauge degree of problem/ concern. TIA for any insight by those in the know.
edit: they also plan to replace the water pump again. ( No leaks on the floor so they say it’s out of an abundance of caution).

I plan to have them replace the serpentine belt while they're in there this time so I can avoid a larger labor cost for replacing later.

Thanks for sharing. That ^^^^ would be the best ending I could write for my saga with this issue. This is our fourth Pcar and the only one familiar with a tow truck!

Didn’t know they have to remove the engine in order to R&R cooling vacuum system and hoses, valve block and water pump?!
Was the engine removed when those of you that had yours done?

Seems like I recall reading that the digital temp is actually a maximum of 194F ... that it could be higher and at some point will set off the warning? And, that with appropriate two way scanner, one can set the digital limit higher ...
