Default 991.1 headlight removal

Hello all,

had a headlight go out and need some advice how to remove it from housing to replace. All the videos I see the headlight housing cover has regular screws to get to the bulb, mine has one directional/tamper proof screws. Surely Porsche doesn't expect you to replace the hole housing for a bulb. Any advice?

Thanks

Use needle nose pliers on those screws. Long needle nose pliers will have more leverage. I'm thinking those screws shouldn't be too tight since they go into plastic...

I'm sorry to tell you that you need a new headlight, there are no bulbs in a factory LED headlight (hence the screws).

Call up aftermarket bulb suppliers, like Morimoto, and see if they have any LED bulb kits for these housings. https://www.morimotohid.com

Horrible? Wait till you see the price of the headlight module! CPO replaced both yesterday & I got t a glance at the parts invoice …. you sitting down …... $ 5,859 …. each! I did not look at Suncoast or Pelican.
Feel better about the tab for Fidelity looking at that :-)

Let us know how this turns out. Good luck.

If you gonna call anyone call Hella but unless you are the CEO at Porsche they are going to be no help.
