17 .2S throwing codes P2181/P0116
after dealer replaced thermostat for overheating. Took 200 miles for it to happen.P2181 is thermo not wshutting and P0116 is engine coolant temp circuit range/performance..
now takes awhile to get to 194and instantly drops to 170 range..Also oil used to be 200+ now 170. taking it to dealer Monday.
thinking bad thermostat or could it be a COV type issue?
anyone been thru this scenario.

Just a guess since they replaced the thermostat and I cannot remember what the wiring connection looked like. Maybe it is not fully plugged in? Easy enough to check.

Ouch! Porsche Genuine Part thermostat at Pelican is $197. They may have used Porsche coolant and that is expensive. At Pelican, $37 per gallon, takes about 28 liters or 7.4 US gal, therefor 3.7 gallons of coolant and 3.7 gallons of distilled water. I use ZEREX G40...same stuff.
