CPO "fixed"/Expired CPO question

CPO "fixed"/Expired CPO question
If you bring something to your dealer under CPO and they say its fixed but its not, then CPO expires and the problem resurfaces will you have any recourse. I ask because my other p car had a transmission failure light come in 2 times in the past 2 months. It will be stuck in 3rd gear until I turn it off. Turning the car off for 1 minute resets it. It goes to the dealer later this month and CPO ends in 10 months. Has anyone ever had a CPO situation like this before. Car has No mods.

One thing you might try, let's say if it repeats and it's finally repaired under CPO, you can ask for documentation on how long the repair is warrantied. Even without CPO any significant repair completed should come with some type of warranty period.

FWIW, I had a car from another German brand where I complained about intermittent problems when it was under warranty and the dealer was unable to replicate/fix. Sure enough, warranty expired and the problems popped up again. I made them fix it at their expense even though it was out of warranty.

Any repair or replacement the dealer does is going to come with 12 months warranty anyway so you should be at least covered that far in the future.
If you have a history with Porsche then I would expect them to give you some wiggle room. Despite all the horror stories you hear, they do tend to be pretty reasonable in my experience.

No threat needed. I brought it in for problems while still under warranty that they were unable to replicate and/or fix. Warranty expired and, of course, the problems surface again. Then they found the issues, made the repairs and wanted to bill me. I told them they're the exact same problems I had while under warranty and that the manufacturer or dealer should pick up the tab. They looked back at the maintenance records and agreed. I was firm with them, but reasonable.

This is not always true you need to read the warranty terms. Many warranties stipulate that even if an item is replaced it is only covered until the original warranty ends it does not extend.
