Default Sport PASM Retrofit?

Hi all,

I installed the sport front lip spoiler today on my 991.1S and did notice a difference in cornering at higher speeds. Got me wondering if I should reduce the ride height by another 10mm and adjust the rear wing as per the Sport PASM option.

Is this something I can buy parts for or have an OPC do for me?

SPASM has nothing to do with the rear wing. That’s the Aerokit.

SPASM cars deploy the rear wing higher at a more aggressive angle of attack.

Not sure of that. My car has SPASM. I know thst if I have the glass roof open, the spoiler goes higher than it does with the roof closed. I’ve not compared it to a non SpASM car with the glass roof.

Here’s what Porsche say about it:

This is how my PASM equipped car spoiler functions as well. Don't think it has anything to do with SPASM, PASM, or base. This is entirely driven by having a pano roof.

I haven't found anything that confirms SPASM equipped cars have spoilers coded for different deployment versus the rest. I believe they all function the same. The sport design rear spoiler is actually programmed to deploy less due to the extension/additional length.

@le_gazman assuming you're talking about swapping from the base front lip to the sport, if you felt that, I am impressed....about to take mine off and go for a drive to see if I feel it

I was as shocked as anyone! I’ve had the car 4 years and put a lot of miles on it so am fairly comfortable with how the car handles my local roads. Within a few corners at 60mph I was convinced it made a difference.

I only test drove it afterwards to make sure it wasn’t going to fall off!

I just picked up a 991.1 C2S. After replacing tires, getting alignment done, etc etc I took it on its maiden highway run and I feel like the front is bit more floaty at speed than my old carrera 4 - which is entirely understandable given this car is RWD.

Question for you folks - do you think this SPASM front lip would improve downforce on the front to help with that ?

Maybe…SPASM, tires, tire pressure could.

after an exhaustive search it appears I will try lowering TP first before trying to generate more downforce
but that SPASM lip sure looks good on the car.

If you already have PASM its more of just a different spring height. Get aftermarket springs like Techart, and a DSC controller, prepare to be amazed.

So according to this description, there's more to it than just shorter springs. Are S PASM shocks different too?

I believe they're describing the difference from stock in which case yes you have both springs and variable shocks. To my knowledge, the only difference between PASM and S-PASM is 10mm height and a bit of stiffness. I have not seen official measurements or specs but that's what I gather and I'm happy to be corrected by someone who is more informed!
