Default Sunroof not working - 991.1

The other day went on a nice drive on a beautiful 70 degree weather day, and when I hit the button to open the sunroof.. nothing. Tilt button didn't work either. The linear was already open and the button to close it did nothing as well.

My guess is I need to replace the motor but does anyone have any experience in diagnosing whether it's the motor or buttons that's the issue? Would also be interested in a DIY or estimated cost to take to an indy or dealer fix.

Scouring the forum and internet I seemed to only find discussions on older gens so any guidance would be appreciated.

Ah yes, that would make sense...

Did not see the sunroof for either footwell boxes so I would assume it's the rear fuse box. Is the rear fuse box located behind the rear passenger seat?

Yup, looks like it's back there scroll down on this thread, it's a for a 991.2, but there is a good chance it could be similar.

The sunroof fuse is on the top row it seems Fuse#4

I started a thread about my 991.1 for the same issue about a year ago. Took it to an independent Porsche mechanic and it was just a "calibration" of the buttons. There is a sequence that has to be put into the button to open it when it gets out of synch. (that's how I understood it). It's a combination of knowing which buttons to press and hold and how long to hold them. Easy fix if you know the secret handshake. I was not told what it was so I can't help with that, but this is probably all it is.

Yeah I read about the sequencing and found a thread on here but I think it was for a 997 and/or 996 which I believe only has one button for the blind and sunroof. I tried to follow similar logic but to no avail. I'll check the fuses as others have suggested and put in a call to my local indy to see if he's been privy to the secret handshake.
