Default 991.2 Retrofit's

So my mom's Targa 4 GTS has the Bose sound system, and it's okay, but leaves much to be desired in my opinion. Is there a way to retrofit the full Burmester system? Has it been done before?

The car was not optioned with PDCC or RWS, can these both be retrofitted?

Can PCCB's be retrofitted? Is there a place where I can buy the system specifically for the 991.2 GTS's rather than buying brakes from a turbo or an S (unless the model doesn't really make a difference).

Thankfully the sport design ducktail wing is an official accessory and so are the Porsche side stripes, along with the rear exhaust cover painted as well as painted side skirts so those will be easy.
PDLS+ is also an official accessory so that will be easy as well.

Throw enough coin at something and all things are possible.

However it sounds like you’ve drank the cool aid and just want to tick all the option boxes.

I know your mum probably won’t track her targa GTS 4 but the things she’d want to have removed would be PDCC, RAS and PCCB. And the other is the 4 lol.

If she wants to dump some coin and have some bling, buy Brembo GT-R BBK. I’d do steel, but they also offer carbon.

A customer of mine with a 991.2 Targa GTS just did this with his car. He bought new 991 Turbo PCCB calipers and is running our Surface Transforms CCM 410/400mm kit (our kit is $15.5K with Pagid rsc1 pads, + calipers). If you just want to run 350mm discs like stock, you can keep your factory steel calipers and just upgrade to our 350mm Surface Transforms kit ($15.1K with rsc1 pads).

To note, all 991 PCCB calipers are basically the same, so if you have a GTS with PCCB, it's basically the same PCCB caliper from a Turbo or even a GT4.

If you want the larger OE Porsche 410/390 discs, new PCCB calipers, pads, and PCCB discs would be roughly $30K. You can also try to source used PCCB calipers and used PCCB discs which you may be able to find for around $10K. Just be wary when buying used PCCB discs. You have some options but it's a bit pricey...

Suggest MusicarNW for the tweeters and disconnect the center to start. They are better than the Burmester units from what i've heard.

You can upgrade with them from there with speakers and/or full amp/dsp upgrade. Talk w/ 12v Nick he should be able to get you hooked up. I'm very happy w/ their tweeters.

It’s all a little bit crazy considering when my car was ordered the PCCB’s were $8,250.00.

After listening, most folks agree that the Musicar Stage Two on the Bose system outperforms the Burmester.

Here's a thread that shows that setup in a 718, which is the same(electrically speaking) as a 991.2 Bose car: Sound System Upgrade in 718 Spyder w/ BOSE®
