So I jumped in the car today only to notice that the "P" "R" or "N" will not illuminate on the dash when the gear selector is put into gear, park or reverse? When you take off, the gears (1 - 7) themselves illuminate when the car is going but not when in P, R or N? Any thoughts? I did undo the battery for a few minutes but that didn't do anything?

Mine has never lit up for "P" "R" or "N". Only shows the gear number while driving.

For better understanding: might it be possible to post a picture or better video of the malfunction?

I can later today but it's fairly simple it's the space where the gear indicator illuminates but when you put it in neutral, park or reverse it would show as well.

The red dots are what indicate P/R/N/D/M. The little LCD screen indicates gear numbers while in drive/manual shift mode.

yes and as a fun-fact: on the 991.1 the red dots are round and on the 991.2 they are square.
