Porsche App - Linked but no Data
Good morning, I guess I have a bit of a newbie question here, regarding my 2019 Base Carrera and the Porsche app.
I currently have no app-subscriptions with Porsche, I didn’t even figure out until I had the car that they were subscriptions needed for certain features. Basically, I just picked up the car as a CPO from the dealer and installed the app on my phone. I thought that it had to be good for something.
And I apparently managed to link the car to the app, I was able to name the car, but absolutely no information feeds through to the app. And I’m not talking about any value-added services, I don’t even get basic information like mileage, fuel level, or tire pressures.
My Mercedeses at least feeds through the mileage, fuel level, and tire pressure information. Is that not possible with the My-Porsche app?
And, of course, I may have screwed something up in terms of linking the car to my phone or our home Wi-Fi. I’ve checked a couple of times, and I’m not really sure where I went wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

same. it's good for getting your vin quick, or scheduling an appointment. that's about it... oh yeah, and their "articles"
the porsche "good to know" app a nice app based manual for your specific car though.

the porsche app gets the remote car data via a vodafone sim inside the dash on the old G3 network. that network was shut down permanently in the u.s. a year ago so unless your car has been upgraded to G4 LTE you will get nothing. apparently as per a porsche connect rep up here in canada we have until 2025 for G3. but still when I cross into the states I get nothing. I have asked about the upgrade but so far nothing but crickets.

The upgrade is around 5k. The part is 4k and labor another 1500-2000.

it's not part of the PCM. separate unit wired into the car electronics and GPS. questionable value if all you want is GPS tracking in case it's stolen. there are aftermarket solutions for that which come with a subscription to link to your cell fone.

I got a notification from Porsche that they would upgrade my '19 991.2 VTS module on their tab, however, it requires the disassembly of the entire dashboard to do the swap. I'm the original owner.
I said no to that, TBH, I haven't missed the services. Don't want to add possible issues (rattles and broken tabs).
BTW, there's no stolen vehicle tracking for the vehicle, not included. Mine didn't have from new and the new module doesn't add it.
