Default Zero out oil change message?

Is there a way to clear the oil change message on the dash? I do my own oil changes and the car is now saying it needs to be changed. Thanks for the help!

I have an older version of this tool and it can zero out all Maintenance messages on my 987, 958 and 991. It can independently clear Oil serivice, 20K mile service and 40K miles service messages , clear CELs and do live diagnostics

I have the icarsoft POR Ver 3.0 which does this. They want to support dealerships so they make it hard to reset a light.

I had a Foxwell NT510 that I could not get to reset the maintenance message. It would reset the oil service but not the major/minor maintenance, but it worked fine for a friend’s 997 so I gave it to him. I replaced it with an icarsoft CR V2.0 which has worked perfectly for me. I went with the 2.0 over the 3.0 because I didn’t feel the additional features of the 3.0 added anything for my own usage. I was able to get a 2.0 with support up to 10 vehicle brands for less money that a single brand 3.0. This is the one I ordered: iCarsoft CR V2.0 Diagnostic Scan Tool for Multi-Brand Vehicles (10-19 Vehicle Choices) +Oil Reset +EPB+BMS+DPF+SAS+ETC+BLD+INJ https://a.co/d/5HU2zjJ

So in short there's not a function that can be toggled through in the car that can reset it. Bummer.

correct

but a $75-$125 tool can do it, so not a big deal

I wonder a dealer would reset it for you. Anyone ever tried that?

Nope. Quite silly, but seems to be a German car thing. I can reset the oil light on my Sedona and GV80 from the menus in the dash

I'm sure a fellow PCA or RL member in the region would make one available to do a quick reset, probably for a decent bottle of vino or similar.

My dealer said they will not reset anything unless they do the work. Yeah, they said that.

$170 to stop by the dealer and have them do it. "Shop minimum" according to the service advisor. What a joke!

Good idea! I'll send a note and see what kind of feedback I get. Thanks for the advice!

FYI, I'll probably be selling my relatively new iCarsoft tool that I bought to reset all of the service interval info along with supporting a battery change. You need this tool for service resets and entering updated battery info do to the stop/start. It turns out if you change the PDK clutch fluid yourself you need a service tool with more capability than what iCarsoft offers. I'll be buying the Auto Scanner MaxiCOM MK808Z-BT tool which runs about $550. Evidently it can do everything iCarsoft can do but it can also put the PDK into a "fill mode" when changing the fluid. I wish I knew that earlier! Stay tuned if you want a used iCarsoft in mint condition.

I have a 2011 Audi S4 and a 2013 Audi Allroad; both enable the owner [anyone] to reset the oil change service reminder using the on board computer included OEM in each of these vehicles, but won't allow the owner to reset the other maintenance service reminder. For that a VW/Audi scan tool is required and my Foxwell NT 510 which I bought for the S4 won't do it but will on the newer Allroad. I bought the Foxwell scanner before I bought the Allroad or even knew that I was eventually going to own another Audi. I bought the S4 new and took European delivery. Despite my gripes, the Foxwell unit has paid for itself because I have also used it 3X when replacing the rear brake pads; both of these Audis have a motor which drives the rear caliper for the e-Brake function and you need to reverse the motor and fully open the caliper in order to change the rear brake pads, and thereafter to recalibrate/close the calipers. It worked perfectly for that task, no dash warning lights.

Now I'm shopping for a scan tool that I can use to reset maintenance reminder items on my 2017 C2S. I'm about to do my first ever oil and filter change.
