I have a Thinkware Q800 Pro dashcam mounted behind the rearview mirror and wired to the overhead console. It can support a rear camera however I did not install the rear as I have a cabriolet. No problems with it at all.

+1 to Blackvue. Had one in my Camaro SS covertible and C7 they just worked. Had them hardwired by the local "go to place".
Went with Nextbase for the one in my Audi A7, and the wife's Audi TT got a Momento M6.
The Nextbase is "ok", but the Momento M6 has issues, and is too big. The shop my wife chose talked her into it, and the app is buggy, and the interface is completely "meh".
I'll be going back to Blackvue when I finally secure a 991.2 this June/July.

I have a Garmin 66W (now 67W) that is perfect for the task. Small, unobtrusive, easy removal for firmware updates, etc. Has been trouble free for several years now. Haven't really needed the recorded info so far, hope I never do.
Mine is a hardwire install, but connected to a circuit that is off when the car is off, since I don't want or need recording when the car is parked.

991.1 here. I occasionally use the latest Escort Dashcam. Pretty good for the price, but it mounts to the detector bracket. In that configuration, the cameras gets left behind if fixed mounted with Blendsmount like most. I added a magnet to the bottom of the Redline that cured the problem.
The only reason I want a Dashcam is for road videos. No need for parked monitoring or rear view. Tail of the Dragon, River Rd fun weekend drives.
The best? I have a visor phone mount I accidentally found on TEMU for $ 3.37. :-) I put the I-Phone in the bracket & use it as a Dashcam. The stabilization is off the charts. The videos look like I’m driving on ice regardless of the road conditions.
Wish I would have tried the phone before purchasing the cam. :-)

I installed a Garmin 57 in my 991.1 and used the Dongar Technologies plug and play adapter:
https://dongar.tech/products/porsche-keyway2
Note that the Dongar description says that you have to have the auto dimming mirror (which I don’t), but this adapter (“keyway 2”) actually connects to the dome light. As it connects before the dome light switch, it is on constant power, which may be an issue for some.
Works really well and the Garmin is so small it complete disappears behind the rearview mirror.

I went with an inexpensive one from aliexpress. $70 and it attaches to the rearview mirror (replaces the factory housing).
I tapped into the mirror on my '18 Targa for it, using a harness adapter that came with it, as I wanted to make sure it could be easily reversed without leaving any signs or damage to existing wires.
I got the 2-camera version but have not, as yet, routed the wires necessary for the rear one. I haven't decided if I want to go with something on the inside of the targa glass or if I could tie into the existing rear camera.
Youtube doesn't do the 4K resolution justice, but you can at least see the field of view it offers.
It's definitely a 'no frills' setup. Their interface to it is nowhere near as polished as you might find with others. But I never bother with the apps. I just rotate the microSD cards about every other month (a 64gb card gives about 6 weeks of my daily driving). When I swap them out I copy the whole card to a PC. I don't bother keeping the videos, just use that copying method as a way to tell if the card is still reliably readable. If there's any hiccups I toss the card, as they do wear out over time.

I just threw out my FitcamX in my 991.1 because I couldn't get it to *not* block the GPS signal, no matter what I did. (shielded cable, rerouted cable, etc). Something about it prevents me from receiving satellites reliably.
So a strike *against* FitcamX which otherwise I thought was a superb product.

The front camera and main unit is mounted discreetly behind the rearview mirror. Mine is hardwired to the fusebox with an inline relay/switch to select between constant power or only with ACC. I don’t usually activate the dashcam as a capture device for when I am parked unless in unknown areas for short periods of time so don’t worry about the battery drain.
The rear camera mounts tidily on the rear window and is mostly out of one’s line of sight.
Functionally, it does everything it’s supposed to with good fidelity. While I have muted all settings, the only alert I cannot suppress is the red light camera alert (I don’t make it a habit of running red lights or speeding through intersections).

The issue is all over the Cayenne forums as well, and when I emailed the company, they knew the issue and immediately sent out (from China - but express shipping so was fine) a shielded power cable. Didn't help.
I checked my GPS receiver (which on 991.1 is upper right windshield right above where Fitcamx mounts). Fine. Cable Fine. Removed the FitcamX and wiring and reliably have 12-16 satellites 100% of the time now.
So I have it in the tool cabinet. If anyone wants my FitcamX you can have it...

Is there a page in the PCM that'll show you the number of active satellites it's seeing for GPS? I vaguely recall one when poking through the menus on my '17 Cayenne, but haven't checked on my 991.2.

@parkerfe Do you have a picture of the visor mount that you are using? If you have a photo of it in the car that would be great. Most of them I am seeing online look too bulky. I would like to try the phone before getting a camera. Are you using an app to record on, or just recording a video on the phone's camera app?
