Default Wireless CarPlay Adapters?

Does anyone use a Wireless CarPlay Adapter? I see a bunch for sale that have decent reviews. Thanks in advance.

I use one. I had two sitting around from other cars. Interestingly, only the older one worked. (v3.0 vs v4.0)

I have the CarlinkIt that @detansinn linked above and I hate it. It's constantly losing its connection to the phone, or freezing up. It's so bad that I'm tempted to switch back to the wired version, which sucks because I love being able to use the Magsafe phone mount I picked up that mounts over the ashtray. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears, because this thing sucks.

My wife’s panamera had a carlinkit adapter that works ok. I just added an Ottocast adapter to my 911 and it’s significantly better than the hers. Connects to my phone almost instantly.

Do you happen to recall which version of the Ottocast you got for your 911? I'll order that thing tonight!

Suggest updating the firmware - I'm on a 3.0 Carlinkit and it's very reliable. I've had 2.0 and 1.0 as well... each version more reliable than the last.

I have this one and it has been good. Fits really well in the little cavity behind the phone area in the center console.

Went ahead and ordered it, curious to compare back-to-back with CarLinkit

Anyone tried Magic Link? I got the Carlink v3 kit from Amazon same day and fooling around with it now, but curious if people find other kits with less lag. One of the posts above said Carlink v4 didn’t work for them so that’s why I got the older version.

Make sure to read through instructions...I am pretty sure my Ottocast instructions said only do software upgrade if having connection issues. I never did, so have been using right out of the box for a couole of years.

I've been using the CPlay2Air adapter in my 991.2 for about a year now. I use a second CPlay2Air adapter in my GMC Sierra. In the car, no glitches. In the truck, glitch about once a month.

The USB port in the center console isn't switched, therefore the CarPlay adapter stays powered on when plugged in. If you leave your car sitting for months between drives with no battery tender, unplug the adapter.

I also have been using the Ottocast. Works perfectly in my 911, and worked perfectly in my NSX. Worth the money for sure.

I've posted on the performance and placement of the ottocast 510michael has. No downside so far. Best bang 4 tha buck mod ever. No problems unless I switch it to other vehicles, then it gets fussy but always settles down. As installed it shuts off in about 5 minutes after parking so no power drain as verified by a bluetooth battery monitor.
