The car I'm looking at is a 7 speed manual, do you have a preference of 6 or 7 speed and why would you prefer one over the other. This will not be a daily drive car.

Transmission preferences are personal preferences, just get what you like. PDK is nice but some people like rowing gears with a clutch petal.

 

I have a 2013 base manual and love it. You won't use 7th gear very often. I've driven a PDK car and the transmission is wonderful, but I'm very happy I ended up with a manual. For me the driving experience is much more engaging. You will love it.

 

are the lower gears different on the 6 speed?

 

The 991 manual only offers a 7 speed transmission.

 

I wasn't aware the 991 was offered with a 6 speed... can you elaborate on that?

 

I read that as more of a "the 911 has 7 speeds vs the usual 6 you see, is that something I'd like?" type of comment. I may be wrong, but we'll see once the OP responds.
