A few important things I've learned in life.

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”

"It is far better to be alone, than to be in bad company."

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”

“If you seek authenticity for authenticity’s sake you are no longer authentic.”

and my favorite after working in the fashion business for 50 years with many large egos.

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” Helen Keller

This may be oversimplified, but I believe that if you learn to work hard you can and will succeed. If i can only teach my children one thing in life, it would be to work hard.

1) what you've done in your life to get where you are

I’m 45 and on my second career. My first was the culmination of my boyhood dream. When I had that job figured out I up and moved to Germany, cuz why not? A few years later, I decided to try something new. I now own and run a small but impactful piece of a company just opened our ~50th office and are now on 5 continents.

2) a great learning you've had along the way.

Don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself.
If you’re given a great opportunity that scares you, take it anyway.
Once in a while, you get shown the light; in the strangest of places, if you look at it right.
Don’t work with ********.
Don’t work with ********.
Don’t work with ********.

2) a great learning you've had along the way.

* Be relentless curious
* Be nice to the janitor...you never know
* Don't sweat the unimportant stuff.....and have the brain to know what is unimportant
