991 basic questions “base vs the rest”
Does the base Carrera with PASM option have same shocks/springs as the S model?
Other than options, is there something the base Carrera can’t get or doesn’t have that upper trims get.

I have a base - great car. Quicker than a .1 S but I will win no drag races. Some folks tune them, which lives the car up quite a bit I have read.

Base are narrow body. GTS are widebody, and have larger wheels. 20 x 12 rear 305/30/20 standard. Anything with a 4 in it (AWD) is also widebody.

X-51
Not sure if OP is referencing 991.1 or .2 or just a general question for either crowd. That said, the 991.1 GTS carries the X-51 factory powerkit. It isn't impossible to install it after the fact but the cost/benefit ratio of doing so vs normal aftermarket part upgrades becomes debatable.

Thank you! I should have said .2 specifically. I need the cheating turbo's. :-)

From PCNA for 991.2:
"The PASM chassis is standard on all models."
"The new 911 Carrera models are equipped as standard with the electronically controlled Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system with active and continuous control of the shock absorbers on the front and rear axles including a 10 mm lowering of the vehicle height."
The GTS came with Sport PASM standard, with "regular" PASM as a no cost option."The new 911 Carrera models are equipped as standard with the electronically controlled Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system with active and continuous control of the shock absorbers on the front and rear axles including a 10 mm lowering of the vehicle height."

Thanks for the correction. I do have an impression that my stock C2 ride height is taller than many other 991.2 cars that I see. Perhaps those are deliberately lowered.
