Mine was Sapphire Blue and it is my all time favorite color!

Quick update. Dealer finally called back today. It turns out he was out of cell service somewhere.
Turns out the California to Alabama mystery is solved because it is a consignment and the car is still in Northern California! Darn, would have been great to see it. I pulled the trigger on a super clean 2013 991,1 S yesterday from a fellow Rennlister!
Cheers

Can't say that didn't cross my mind at some points in this process...
The GTS would have been cool but I'm realizing the S is plenty good and fun. Early days but I'm still getting that giddy feeling waiting at signals to pull away with the sport exhaust. Breaking the rear a little loose finishing on-ramps is a work in progress but exciting enough. My last Porsche was a 996 C4S bought brand new in 2003. The 991.1 is a completely different experience.

My favorite time to "play" is when it is raining, far lower speeds and more controllable oversteer, if you push the car in wet WITH Sport+, the nannies will give you just enough leash to make you feel like a hero. Its amazing how the system works
enjoy!

Great advice. I did experience a pucker moment in the 996 at night when I came up on an unexpected slow corner on a blind corner and lifted. The nannies definitely saved me from spinning out onto the freeway...lights were flashing all over the dash.
The rain is great advice and when I rode the bike in the rain that was exactly what I looked forward to. Even getting the front to the edge of adhesion (let alone the rear) is a fun skill build when it is pouring. Even did a trackday in unexpected rain at the track and I was on fire after that day...so awesome to explore limits at slower speeds.
Can't wait to get the 911 on a dry track to see what it really feels like laying down a blacky.

Exactly, keyword being "proper" aka extremely thorough.
Exactly what I did and paid accordingly. The best ones go fast.

Here you go - from my 991 Servicebook: all works are done in 30.000km steps or 2 years, whatever comes first.

Engine Oil Every 10,000 miles or one year
Spark Plugs (Turbo Models) Every 30,000 miles or three years

If you are going 18k miles or 2 years you are not maintaining your car per Porsche recommendations.

@spyderbret Have you seen my previous post. I posted pictures of my service book from my Carrera S. Clearly you guys are being ripped off because the service book in Europe says 30.000km or 2 years.

Yes I noted that but then I am fluent in German. Maybe it is only 10,000 miles in the US due to their low highway speeds. LOL Hell, when I am on the Autobahn, 911s "cruise" at 120 mph; quicker ones are doing 150 mph.
