Yea, slow down on the transmission replacement. Separate thread on repairing below. Send the car to a shop listed in the thread. Good luck.

THANK YOU, EVERYBODY.

This has been incredibly helpful, especially with placing where my expectations should be. With PCNA, pretty much expecting a rejection. I should be optimistic about a fix but fearful of a rebuild or used replacement. The technical parts are very informative.

I found a shop that does PDKs in Los Angeles - Westside Transmission. The guy seems extremely knowledgeable. He claims he can rebuild the PDK and improve it by replacing some parts inside the transmission with better parts... The only problem is that costs about $13K. Next, he says he can potentially fix the current transmission, but he needs to look at it. I asked him how much it is to diagnose it, and he said it's nothing. Is this normal? Very high ratings online (4.7/5).

Second, I have a friend who always works on his cars. I trust him, and he has referred me to a shop. The mechanic wants to test a few things out. This is Saab & Raffi. Very high ratings online (4.8/5).

While my car is hibernating at the dealer, waiting on PCNA, I am trying to figure out which shop to bring it to- seems like both are capable.

Also, I called LA Dismantler, and nothing available.

I have a small backstory for how Porsche handled this. So get this. I get the check engine light and messages, the same one that CSK 911C 4S mentioned by Becks European in Atlanta.

Once I got the check engine lights, I called my dealer and they said it would be a few weeks before I could bring it in. But, I can bring it in for a quick test, which I did, and nothing came up except a misfire in the log which I had. They said could be a spark plug. Made the appointment for 2 weeks+ out anyway. Then a week guys by- and I go home, park, and shut my door. I try to reopen it after leaving something in there, and the handle won't open the door anymore. I then have to go through the passenger door to check on it, and only opened from the inside. A day later, I go to look at it myself, I messed with the locking mechanism on the door (oops), then the friggin lock became stuck, and I couldn't shut my car door (the door was locked without it being closed so it was open) anymore. It had to be towed to the dealer. Same story, the dealer said it might take a week to look at it. A week goes by, and they say the actuator is snapped. How the F did this happen? $1500. I go ahead and get it done there reluctantly. Porsche also had some other items that needed to be fixed, but most of it was maintenance- new brakes, new tires, Meanwhile, my appointment came while the car was already there, for the check engine light, and I don't hear anything from them. I get the text that my car is ready, and I ask what is up with the check engine light? They said the error message is not showing up and that if it shows up, to bring it in.
Fast forward to the next day, the next morning! I drive up a hill and get the same check engine light, but now I get an overheating warning near the top. My car is right before the very top, and it starts to stutter, so I coast down the hill to a safe place and get the car towed. Another 2 weeks goes by and I get the bad news about the transmission BUT I also get some other items to fix, like the oil separator and the coolant valve, along with the radiator 2 fan. I am not sure if this is all related, but it seems quite ridiculous what has taken place. Why are they adding new items after doing their 2nd 100+ point inspection?

No one from PCNA has called me asking for my story, so they don't know or care. I have a good relationship with the dealer and think they might be vouching for me to get PCNA to pay, all probably on deaf ears. In fact, the person they say was assigned to my case doesn't work there anymore, so they've never been employed since receiving my case, and a senior specialist got a hold of it. Still haven't heard from anyone, but I called PCNA to get the status, and they say it was rejected. I then called the dealer and get a text back from them saying they have not heard from PCNA, so it is pending. LMAO.

Porsche did a PCA video explaining it all. Don't let the stealership play the replace vs repair game with you for $20k
