In addition to what everyone has said, which is all accurate, the economy plays a role. I am seeing cars sitting for a lot longer than they used to. Financing costs have doubled and people are nervous that the inflation in used car values during the pandemic is going to quickly deflate in a recession. I know I am nervous about that.

I guess it’s two different sets of members responding - Rennlist p-car drivers and Rennlist p-car garage owners 😜

The mileage doesn't bother me, I've happily driven Porsche with much more. Pictures of the car look great to me as well, but...
You've already heard this about 10 times on this thread, but I'll add my vote. That aftermarket makes it a no-go totally and completely for me and probably a huge portion of the 911 buying population. The execution looks poor, and no one wants to see the words "Kenwood" on the dash of their 911. The sounds improvement over the OEM system does not factor into the equation at all. The terrible graphics, fonts, and the loss of other PCM functions on that system... I wouldn't buy a WRX that was modified in this way... I'd bring it back to stock, make sure everything works ok, and relist at the same price with an "OBO". Good luck, it's a beautiful car!

I have the rear badging and will note that -- I'm not a fan of badging myself but you're right, others may feel differently. Shall see if I can arrange it neatly myself. The audio system was installed by a highly regarded specialist who used only the existing openings and the Bose speaker grills. I'll add that detail, and say that the original system can be easily reinstalled (though in this case, I really do think the purist is going too far -- the original Bose 'premium' system sounds horrible!) I'll ask my shop about fixing the oil gauge warning -- he told me that as long as I'm getting regular oil changes it's meaningless functionally -- but I understand that buyers may be more wary. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know. This feedback is incredibly helpful, thank you again!
i have no comment about the price, since I’m up in Canada, but as suggested it might be a good idea to find out what the various dealers (online or physical) are willing to pay for your car.

Definitely nothing much you can do about the mileage, I’d continue enjoying it while you can. 🙂

Unlike some suggestions, I would leave the radio in as well. It may reduce your target a little, but just like with other “mods” there will be others that might upgrade their stereo anyways; maybe invite people to come for a listen.

As for pictures, if you have a more recent iPhone, that should be good enough.

One thought out of the box, I would certainly not attempt to street park that car anywhere in NYC, or pay the extortionate monthly fees of the parking garages, but maybe you could look into the storage facilities around new York. There are a couple in Westchester I think and at least one on Long Island.

You could store the car until Easter and then try selling again when the season turns.

Hi all, thanks again for your continued advice. I haven't been able to take better photos yet but have added some updates to the text. Since many seem to have a visceral reaction to the audio upgrade -- who knew? -- I added that the system, except for the receiver on the dash of course, is installed in existing ports and is invisible to the eye. I have the original components boxed for the next owner -- easy enough to switch back, though I can't really imagine wanting to, as the new system sounds fantastic and is nicely installed. And not to worry -- no way is the car going to NYC! If it doesn't sell this fall I'll leave it in the garage here for the winter and list it again in the spring. Re. pricing, I based it on the Carfax estimate. Since opinions on the price appear divided, I think I'm probably in the right ballpark. I really do appreciate all the feedback!

Lovely car. Wouldn’t mind the stereo FWIW.

Not trying to change your mind but I’ve kept high end cars and low end cars in NYC, valet and self park. On the whole it’s been a surprisingly good experience, I did get some minor scratches on my Toyota but I didn’t bring it up because I didn’t spot them till later. My Mercedes and Lexus have been spotless and been with the same garage for a year I remember everyone’s names tip them well and without asking they just park my cars in the best parts.

Im getting a sports car next year and will be storing it in the same place. I used to street park without concern but with the decline of the city I no longer feel comfortable street parking any luxury nameplate.

Since you said you based your price on Carmax’s offer, just keep in mind what that premium is and whether it’s worth it. For example, Carmax offered me $50K for my pickup and I got a lot of tire kickers and flakers trying to sell it private party for $55K. In retrospect, probably not worth the $5K…

sp330, you're a braver man than me. But maybe you're in Manhattan with access to nice, if pricey, garages? We live in Brooklyn and the garages near home may be scarier than the street parking! And then it's a good stretch of potholes just to get on the BQE -- no thanks. We have a decoy car, a street-battered, 20-year-old Camry, for those purposes. Perfect!

Manhattan yes. It’s not “nice” but definitely better than what I’ve seen in Brooklyn. Probably wouldn’t keep one there. The rates hover between 4-600 a month.

Camry sounds good. Nothing more freeing than having a car you care little for.

Here is your data point you need. I am buying a 991S PDK this weekend and I looked at your car. Why I am not purchasing your car:
1. I wanted to have the paddle shifters instead of the normal buttons on the steering wheel. Some people don't care about that, but I do.
2. I am not a stereo person and has me concerned because now the wiring has been modified. Bolt on modifications like exhaust, suspension, etc. doesn't concern me as much as wiring.
3. There is a slightly newer one for sale locally (I am in NC not NYC now).
4. The trunk "debadge" looks a little odd, but minor. The "debadge" brings up questions like, "Did it get in an accident and they didn't re-badge the car?" Yes, this sounds trivial, but as a buyer, little things like this brings up a lot of questions, especially when not mentioned in the ad.
5. Your initial listing calling the car "air cooled" had me concerned you didn't know much about this car and had me wondering if there are other things you don't know about the car. Very very slight concern.
6. Your price is good. Every 991S around this mileage is listed for $63-$70 right now. Even ones with damage and salvage titles (yes, salvage title!!! crazy).

Yes, all of the stuff above is minor, but for someone like me where $65K is a lot of money, trying to get what I want in this market and not settle.

Consider:
1. Cleaning the car better. The dirty carpet and dull seats just do not "pop" in the pictures.
2. Go onto Autotrader, Bring a Trailer, etc. and copy the picture angles.
3. Please don't take pictures on a gravel road.
4. You talk about the amazing stereo but there are no pictures of it in the car (besides the head unit), I have no idea why not highlight this $11K stereo and no pics and no video of the sound. No link to a youtube video where you are playing the sound from this "amazing" stereo.

I hope this helps.

It is a good car, but the upcoming recession, crazy high interest rates (I am a cash buyer, so I don't care about rates) makes this market hard.

Car is dirty, interior dirty, and photos are pretty awful ... very easy to fix all of these things.

And, yeah, any modification is subject to enhanced scrutiny - complete photographic and receipts history of the modification is almost required, especially with the 911 guys.

There must be an offset for the mileage ... I don't track pricing, but others that do believe you are close on price - BUT, your audience is generally looking for low mileage, so patience and/or willingness to deal are likely required.
