2013 911 Carrera S cold air intake
Hello- I am fairly new to the Porsche scene and looking for the best option for a cold air intake. I have just purchased headers and exhaust, just looking to round it out with a nice intake. Please let me know your thoughts. 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Pretty sure the 991.1 is like most cars in that it's an OEM cold-air intake. The 991.2 for sure is.
BMC filters are the standard go-to. aFe makes a whole system, and I think awe does as well, those may be worth looking into.
Performance to dollar is pretty poor, all things considered. N/A mods be like that. You'll get some more sound of the deal, though.

I just recently installed the AFE system. Install is pretty straight forward if you've taken the bumper and spoiler off before. Much easier than it looks.
Bumper: 10 minutes
Spoiler: 10 minutes
Removal: 35 minutes
Install: 45 minutes
Putting everything back: 25 minutes
Onto the review...
Power and Performance: Butt dyno estimates 10hp. To be honest, the increase is negligible. My 0-60 times were essentially the same using my dragy. My tires are a lot more worn since I last tested, so that could have affected it. I wouldn't expect anything more than a 0.05 increase. A drop in temperature would yield better results. I do notice a much better throttle response. Car is a bit peppier. Feels like it's breathing better. That could be placebo, but it's irrelevant, makes me happier.
Sound: More of a growl now. Smoother sound. Love it.
Fitment: 8.5 out of 10. Some holes don't line up very well, you need some pressure to get it into place. The intake vents don't line up at first, you need the pressure of the spoiler back on, then the vents align perfectly. Don't panic. I was sh!tting bricks, was ready to use some tape to seal it.
IMO, it was worth it for the sound and better throttle response if you catch it on sale for $750 or below. It's not worth it at $900+. I would rather put that money towards a Cobb tune.

IMO, save your money and put that towards Sport Headers or Race Headers if your situation allows. There are real butt dyno gains with those, but they are super pricey new. Sometimes nice ones come up used, but still around the $2k mark.
