Default Fuse box kill switch

Hey everyone

I want to wire up a fuse box kill switch, hidden in either the driver side or passenger side foot well.

The purpose of this is to prevent my car from being stolen with one of those stupid key reading devices.

Car is a 991.2 4s.

I read the fuse panel diagram in hopes of finding a fuel pump relay and associated fuse... to my surprise the fuel relay exists but there is not fuse in there from factory.

Which fuse can I pull/ disable to prevent the engine from starting ?

seems like a wildly unnecessary precaution against a thing that won't ever happen to you.

that said, pull the main fuse.

So, this is something I disagree (not that my opinion matters) with. While completely understanding as to why, it's going to do more harm than good. These vehicles have a constant power running to the computers for "keep alive memory". Once power is removed, all previous settings and learned parameters are lost. The ecm especially, this will turn into a possible 50 miles of not running at its top, decreased fuel mileage, etc.. And same with the transmission, if PDK. All while trying to regain and relearn settings, parameters, and emissions readiness.

which is why I wanted to kill just the fuel pump not the whole car.

Growing up in Miami in the 80’s, it was not an uncommon thing to see installed by car alarm installers. I distinctly remember having an ignition ‘kill switch’ in our 1986 Supra. It was a toggle switch that was hidden under the dash. You simply flip the switch and it rendered the ignition switch inoperable. I don’t recall that it affected any other part of the vehicle.

^^
Did something similar to my 1980 RX-7. Installed a hidden switch to kill the fuel pump.
I wish I still had that car! My last manual car.

Can’t help with your actual question but wanted to chime in with a thumbs-up. I think this old school approach is an excellent idea. Just one thing….

…hidden in either the driver side or passenger side foot well.

probably not a good idea to advertise its location
