I can't find a tire distributor who currently has the Sport Contact 7s for sale in sizes to fit our Porsche 991s. I checked the Continental home page and sizes for my 991.2 S are listed. Production was to start about a year ago so there appears to be a delay. Anyone have information on availability?

Do you find they have much less grip than the Pirelli', being they are an all season tire vs summer. I dont track but do like some backroad fun

Pirellis, as they wear out: "Only xxxx more miles, and I can get rid of these things without feeling like I'm taking a bath"

Michelins, as they wear out: "I'll bet I can get another xxxx miles outta these"

I think it's important to find out the terms of road hazard insurance when purchasing high performance tires. Does a nail puncture result in a free professional internal plug/patch repair or because of the high performance rating and liability fears does the manufacturer prohibit this type of repair and require replacement with a new tire. Is a new tire replacement for a puncture covered by the road hazard insurance? (I have no reservations using a professional plug/patch since I'm not tracking my car.) Several years ago I had high performance Michelins on a 2015 V6 Macan Turbo I used to own. The road hazard insurance covered the replacement with a new tire. The tire shop ordered one new Michelin. The new tire that arrived from the regional distributor was +3 years old (against the policy of the tire shop to install a new tire this old.) The distributor, after several attempts would repeatedly send old production date 'new' tires. This went on for several months with me and the tire shop calling both the regional distributor and Michelin USA in an attempt to get one new production date tire.

Agreed. I've had both and can't tell much/any difference. Michelins are getting greasy near their end of life. Several publications have tested noise....virtually identical. Porsche wouldn't put a lousy tire on their cars.

SW Florida dweller so nails/screws in tires are unfortunately somewhat normal. Picked up a nail in my rear tire, Same one that picked up a nail 6 months ago so no hazard ins for a 2 time loser.
Tire Rack lists the Porsche M Pilot Sport 4S 305x30x20 for $551. Dealer had 1 in stock for $516. Not great but better.

I notice no difference in grip wet or dry. I don't track my car either and so I'm confident you will be pleased with Contis.

Thought I would post an update. Contacted my dealer who is about 80 miles away. They do sell tires and surprisingly were a little less than Tirerack. Price advantage however disappears with the mounting charge. They don't stock the tires. I can order fronts in a couple of days but they were looking for rears. I never got an email back as they wanted me to pre pay. The search continues....

I just ordered a set of Contis. My car was delivered with Yoko Advans, but the first set of rear tires was about done with 8000 miles, and the second set is at least 2/3 worn with another 6000 miles. I was pleased with the performance otherwise, but that much wear with just road miles (and almost all highway), seems a bit much. I might give up a bit with the ExtremeContacts, but I hope to get more miles.
