Seems silly, but the part number printed on the module is similar, but not the same part number you listed. Do you think these are all kinda the same? I see a few others on ebay that look identical but have slightly different numbers printed on them.

The part number on the alarm siren I removed was 1K8 951 605 B. The one I bought was part number 1K0 951 605 C as in the picture. The ad said:
Interchange Part Number: 1K0951605A, 1K0951605B, 1K0951605D, 1K8951605B, 1K8951605A, 1K8951605, 6R0951209, 1K0-951-605-F, 1K0951605F
Manufacturer Part Number: 1K0951605C, 1K0 951 605 C, 1K0 951 605C
Compatible Part Numbers: 1K0951605A, 1K0951605B, 1K0951605D, 1K8951605B
I think they're just different versions of the same part. It works perfectly.

Martin

The battery goes dead in them and it causes this behavior. They last about 10 years.

Default Siren replace program

Do you need to program the siren when you replace it or can you just plug it in and it will be fine.

This just blows my mind finding these things in posts, I purchased my 991 in January the frunk never popped and just recently noticed the flashing hazards by unintentionally locking it twice with the fob I also swore I heard it chirp for the first time the other day sounding like this part may fix all of these issues...thanks for the info op!

Received my part form ebay the picture showed the 605 B (like my original) but I received the 605 C - plugged it in and no luck, frunk still doesn't pop and the lights get stuck blinking occasional after locking the car. Also have not heard a chirp when locking since I owned this car is there supposed to be one? Could there be some other factor that would cause these issues?

Reading this thread again I realized the fuse I was looking for when trying to troubleshoot the frunk not opening when touching below the crest was actually the alarm siren fuse which of course was blown - tried replacing it and the new one popped. I am going to take off the ebay siren and try putting the fuse in before connecting the old one again and see what the results are, if the fuse pops again I think this is beyond my troubleshooting abilities.

A used part that is replacing a commonly failing part is suspect to be defective as well.
Note that tested working for resellers simply means it was in the car that we are dissambling, it's not like they are going to waste the time figuring out how to actually test the parts for performance.
