Default Dent in leather seat

Hey all!

So looks like someone put their elbow or knee on the middle of my passenger seat which caused a dent in the leather.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I saw some videos using a hot wet towel and a hairdryer.

I've attached a picture -- would this bother you guys?

If it's a concours car, maybe someone would care.

If it's literally anything else at all, it's not worth stressing over.

You're not wrong, just bothers me since it happened when going for service. It looked perfect before.

That would annoy me also.

I have tried to remove these in the past (old BMW M3), it worked but came back after a while. But that was a soft Napa leather. Porsche’s leather (with exception of 992), seems pretty tough and thick so give it a try. Or just leave it and maybe it’ll go back into its original shape by itself. Before trying to fix.

or perhaps the heat of a laptop placed on the passenger seat while they were diagnosing the issue?

I understand your frustration but its unavoidable. as long as theres no rip, scratch, or any damage, it should be fine

Same thing happened to me when I had my windshield tinted. It’s def frustrating but I keep telling myself in the grand scheme of things it is ok

You can try a cold pack and heat carefully.

I used a clothing steam wrinkle remover to even out a deformed area on my seat bottom. Worked well enough that it’s not noticeable.

Good luck.

Put a towel on it and use an iron at very low heat and gently go over it.

I have had many of those in front and rear from placing objects on the seat. They always went away on their own.

Take it to a local auto upholstery shop. They can steam it out for sure.

I’d sell and buy a GT3 Touring.

So I looked into selling my car since it's a total sh*t box now that the seat has a small dent.

Actually managed to fix it! Here's what I did:

1. Soaked a small towel with boiling/very hot water
2. Wrung it out so it was just a very hot damp towel
3. Placed the towel on the area for a few minutes
4. Used a blowdryer on med/high heat and went back and forth over the area
5. Once the dent was gone I placed an ice pack on the area for a few minutes
6. Lastly I applied some leather conditioner

Took me a total of 15 minutes.
