991 GTS TARGA or 992 GT3 ?
Hi to all,
I’m 911-991 GTS TARGA owner, as new, with only 10,000 km (Europe car).
I’m thinking about to change it with a new 992 GT3, paying the right difference.
I’m a N/A enthusiast and collector but I have no space for both of them, so if a want to buy a new car I need to sell one.
What do you think about this change?
thanks in advance
Ennio

As XLR says, use case is important. But his suggestion of a 991.2 GT3 is a very good one. I just got one earlier in the year and saved $100k over the 992 and still get the 500HP NA 9,000 RPM screamer of an engine. I also prefer the looks of the 991 gen so that was a deciding factor for me as well. I mean, you cant go wrong with either but the 991 just spoke to me more. Good luck with your decision!!

Many of the 992 GT3 owners I know seem to prefer the 991.2 GT3. Personal preference of course but I found it an interesting trend.
I vote stick with the Targa or go 991 GT3.
How do you use the car?

very different cars. The targa is more of a sports GT and the GT3 is a stiff track car you can use on the road. Do you road trip your car? or only drive it a few km every weekend? If you wanna drive your car everyday the targa is prob a better car, I know I would have a hard time driving a gt3 everyday, especially with the crappy roads we have here. And if you do go GT3, my vote would also be for a 991.2 normal or touring.

For the OP I don’t find my .2 to be an overly harsh ride and I think the GT3 will hold value slightly better. But both are amazing cars.

Bucket comfort and ride quality. Quality might not be the right word, since it is a GT car, you know what you’re getting into on the road. But their impressions were that .2 was a bit more at home on the street vs the 992. Also a more general gripe about 992 cockpit - the screen is higher and further away from the driver so it’s more difficult to interact when needed.

I would only specify that my 991 is 3.8 N/A and I drive it once time for month.
My question was only about if is more ICONIC a 3.8 Targa GTS or a 992 GT3.
Thanks
