The rear engine lid struts failed on my '19 991.2. Those things couldn't have been opened more than a few dozen tines since the car was picked up under Atlanta delivery on 1/19.

Seems like a poorly designed item. Replaced under warranty. According to the tech, he has replaced them quite often.

The new ones I ordered from FCP Euro came in a sealed vinyl pouch and each end had grease in them.

Made by Stabilus (in Mexico) and they ran me $17.95 each a few weeks ago.
Stabilus 547327 with the correct 130N spec.

They were probably made by a Chinese supplier to VW or Audi for their factories there.
OEM from VW were $92 each.
I'm hoping by the time I need them there will be aftermarket replacements for my Porsche.
