Hello,
Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong spot on the forum (looks like I placed this in the 991 forum and not the 992- please let me know how i can move this) or if this has been discussed for this model porsche previously (I found one other thread, but the solution posed there did not solve the issue).
The fuel door on my porsche carrera s 911 992 will not open. I last refueled 2 weeks ago. I live in Miami so its not frozen and there is no other foreign impediment to its opening (at least not that i can observe).
I understand there may be an emergency latch to open the fuel door. But have been unsuccessful at locating it. I also can't locate an owners manual for this generation 911...
For reference, the other thread i found on this noted one solution as being to lock and unlock the door repeatedly. this has not worked for me.
Any suggestions, tips, solutions, etc., would be immensely appreciated as I am now out of fuel (save for a few vapors)!!
Thanks

Wow, good luck. I just need to make sure the door is unlocked and I am able to open my fuel door, what does your manual say?

This is for the 991 models. Im guessing should be same on 992. Look at post number 9 in the thread below.

Thank you!
There is a manual "filler cap" release on the inside of the door; you need to open the door and reach between the door and the fender to access it. You're supposed to be able to pull that "to the point of resistance" and open the 'filler cap' manually.
Alas to no avail; I pulled it repeatedly and the door did not move at all. Ultimately the filler cap release broke entirely.
Does anyone have any idea why the filler cap (aka fuel door) will refuse to budge even when the manual release is pulled?
For reference- i've seen videos online of an instance where it will open maybe half an inch or so, and then you can use a screwdriver to press the door out of its catch. but in this case the filler cap/fuel door is not moving at all.
