Tire pressure light

Tire pressure light
Hay Guys, I have a 991.2s I went and got a car inspection and went for a little ride to pick up some groceries when I went to start up my car the tire pressure light went on and said 6.I think that’s to add pressure but the pressure was already 44.5 psi. Any ideas?

Hmm, I don’t know but can’t you reset the warning? I believe most car you can. Then drive for a mile or so and it should reregister the tire pressure. Not sure if you can do this on a P-car but most other cars you can. Another note I’ve seen this on my wife’s Mercedes and it was due to a low battery. Anyway can’t wait to see how this is diagnosed by other members.

The light went on and it said.... 6? What said 6? 6 what? What does your MFD read out for the tire pressures if you scroll to that screen?

OP likely means 6 lbs down.
Funny thing, today I drove my 991.2 after sitting for several days, TPM indicated (-3) lbs. This cleared after driving a few miles. Comfort Setting pressures.
Wonder if the OP's car was sitting for a while before the incident?

Yes , -6 psi. I haven’t drove it for a couple of weeks, but I drove for a mile to get an inspection and everything was fine, after inspection it was fine I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things and when I started it the light came on

The volume of air in these low profile tires isn't as large as regular passenger tires, I imagine that a a small change in volume, such as air temp swings, can affect these cars more acutely and triggers the TPM.
FWIW, check your tire pressure after the car has been sitting for a while, as well after season change. I'm checking mine tomorrow when they are at ambient temps since I got the TPM message. Have an analog gauge that is quite accurate and does co-relate well to the TPM readings.
Once a month checks can't hurt.

Check your tire setup in the menu - comfort, performance etc. My set up changed without any input from me and triggered a low pressure warning. Changing it back to my preferred setting removed the warning.
