Default 991.2 Brake Cyl upgrade to GT3

Anyone try this yet? The one thing missing from my T is a better pedal feel. Waiting on more info from 9M, but wanted to get some more opinions.

If it's anything like the GT upgrade for the 996 guys, it'll be quite the change.

Try SS lines. Made a big diff in my brake pedal feel. I didn’t like the pedal before I swapped the lines.

Aren't the factory lines braided internally?

Not sure. They look like every other OE brake line. Black rubber outer.

I asked my brake guy. He said BBK’s are designed fir the Master Cylinder in your model. So it is a bad idea for anyone with a BBK.

The BBK came with braided lines, and i also changed the fixed hard line to flexible braided. In combination with type III rotors, i have awesome pedal feel. Pads, rotors and lines as well as fluid transforms the braking.

Also reinforcing the firewall flex. Take a look when car is parked and someone stands on the brakes, how much flex there is. (It’s an old track guy hack. )

The flex is really alarming - is there some extra bracing on GT3 or something as the first time I saw it I was really alarmed!

I don’t believe GT3 has anything additional. My Race Mechanic pointed it out and said he will custom something up to improve it.

A JDM brand called Cusco makes master cylinder braces to prevent fire wall flex for some cars. Could use one of their parts as inspiration to fashion one for 911.

Literally just angle iron to create a reinforced triangle to press against. Nothin' to 'em, even I can fabricobble something like that together.

I'm surprised this is an issue on the 991 chassis, to be frank.

take the plastic covers off and get someone to hit the brake pedal hard, it is shockingly bad

I upgraded to a four wheel BBK as well. Pedal feel is much improved.

I too asked about an upgrade on the master cylinder and AP Racing said that would be a no-no (as 4 Point 0 stated).

Just checked mine . I have version 2, but it shall not help me. My car is RHD and this won’t fit.

RHD

I just noticed the front strut tower brace 🤣

I never knew they had one for our car?
