4 lbs, or 40 lbs? What is it made out of that it's only 4 lbs?

Only a T that has all the carbon bits and nothing extra. The way 90% of them were ordered, with a sunroof/18-ways/leather, they’ll weigh more than a base Carrera slick-top and 4-ways.

Saw the website for these batteries. Very nice. Keep us updated on real world, long-term application and reliability of these. This is game changing stuff, not just in weight savings, but for ease on install also.

Make sure you document how often you plug in your car. They recommend that you plug it in basically all the time since the battery is comically low capacity. It's some real race car stuff, terrible for a weekend warrior car.

True ,I had this battery in my 996tt and yes if you dont use the car for 1 month you need a slow charger to maintain voltage

and website says you need a specific charger for lithium batteries, not the regular chargers for lead batteries. How much of an investment is that?

I always found this to be odd, and probably snake oil.

Think about it. You're not changing the alternator in the car, are you?

The battery should have a management/balancer system built into it (this is where a lot of the cost comes from) so it can be compatible with "traditional" chargers.

That is correct if you can charge it with your alternator you can charge with any slow charger imo
Correction my battery weight 5lbs not 4
