Default 2012 991 Service

So I have a 2012 C2S with only 12,500 miles on it and wondering what I should have done service wise? Brake fluid flush? Belt change? I'm having a 3rd. radiator installed and figured as long as it's there maybe have them do some of the other maintenance? Thoughts on what I should have done? 20k service? Not sure I need to change the plugs with only 12k miles?

Based on age, do the plugs. Also, brake fluid flush, not sure about belts. Also change the tires is they are original. If you have it, check the service history and see if any of this was completed recently. I know there is a 991 service schedule to follow. See if you can Google and find it. Then you can see what the recommended maintenance is. Based on the age of the car, go by age instead of mileage.

If never done, I would change spark plugs as a time item, rather than miles, as you don't want the plugs to seize on there over time. Brake fluid will take on water over time and putting in new fluid is always good after all this time. Then also radiator fluid also if never changed. Just all good preventative things.

When I bought a 2013 991S with 20k miles on it, I made the seller perform the Porsche recommended 8 year/ 80,000 mile service as a condition of purchase. I negotiated a PDK clutch oil change also. The maintenance schedule is time OR mileage.

Default Pdcc bottle

Make sure it was changed at 6 years and it is probably due again. I have a suspicion these bottles which have an internal filter cause pdcc failure if not changed, which is $$$.

1.) Brake Fluid
2.) Plugs
3.) no need to do the belt, they last a long time.

Apologies for the noob question. Purchased my 2012 C2S a month ago and it has 22k miles on it. Still new to the Porsche world so I’m genuinely curious about adding the center radiator since I live in San Antonio and it gets super HOT. Are people adding the center radiator because they live in hot climates like myself? Also, is this something I can install myself? I am semi familiar around cars and YouTube helps as well. Thanks again

You'll get mixed responses on the center radiator. I did mine because I wanted it (moving to Houston this summer) and Suncoast were offering them for $600 for the whole kit. As for doing it at home, yeah you can but bleeding the system is difficult as Porsche has a bunch of valves and you need a bleeder with a vacuum (so I'm told) so I had my local Porsche dealer install. There are a bunch of YouTube videos on it so I would recommend checking those out.

This is exactly the way to handle it. Every two years Porsche requires maintenance, just like anything 99% of the other car on the road. If no one has done the required maintenance on a consistent basis, there is no telling what kind of shape the car is in.

Check this link for an example service schedule based on time so you can understand what's normally involved. Ideally, your seller will have paperwork for all these maintenance points. If those maintenance records are not available (note, CarFax and AutoCheck might have them) the car is at increased risk for problems so you should take needed precautions.

What sort of service history does the car have? Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to "zero out" the maintenance when the car is new-to-you, unless, of course, there are good service records and you know what has been done.
