@Soul Performance or anyone who cares to answer. Before I ever read the installation instructions, I decided to order some replacement gaskets not realizing that I could reuse the old ones. Since I got them, I’ll just go ahead and use the new ones.

but I also have a question about step 11 where it recommends using a copper gasket sealant. I assume this is what they are referring to which I went ahead and ordered to have on hand when I installed. I’m just not exactly sure how to use it. Do I put it on both sides of the gasket? Will a Small layer spread around by my finger around both sides suffice or is this something that I want to put a bead around, and again do I do this on both sides of the gasket? My worry is that some might seep into the cats.

Also, @Soul Performance I tried sending you this phot on private message but I couldn’t attach it. This stud & nut came out together as I was trying to remove just the nut from my OEM cat. The precise location of this was the top (highest from the ground) location on the driver side cat with the nut facing the front of the vehicle. It is approx 3.5cm in length. I would prefer not to reuse this part as it is rusted and seized on. Any chance you can send me a replacement for this to use with my soul cats? If so, please send to me at your soonest ability. Happy to pay whatever the cost. My address is in the private message I sent to you.

Just be careful with the o2 sensors when reinstalling them. Very easy to miss tread them.

It would be useful to see what Soul says with regard to the copper sealer. I am guessing that it is to assure a good seal with the original gaskets and / or to help hold the gaskets in place while you reassemble the cats. Obviously the factory used no sealant and it will make it messy if you have to take them off in the future. I used new gaskets with no sealer and let the gaskets hang off the remaining stud then swung them into place once the cats were back up before I put the new bolts in. No leaks so far.

One of my gaskets got skewed a little bit when removing the factory cat. Straightened it out and back to it’s shape and reused it without copper gasket sealer. Everything is tight and there are no leaks. I think you should be fine since factory didn’t have the sealer in it.

Not necessary to use the ultra copper. It’s actually good that you have a set of OEM gaskets. They seal the best. When we installed my Kline setup, I purchased all new OEM gaskets and didn’t use anything to aid in sealing.

As far as the existing bolt, why not just reuse it? Spray some PB blaster or similar, and then try twisting on another nut, to put it up against the one on there. So now you double nut it, and you’ll be able to twist the one out.

I would personally skip the gasket sealant since you have new gaskets.

That stud and nut look fine to me. Just grip the shoulder and remove the nut.

Hey! Sorry for the delay! We recommend copper gasket spray on old gaskets. I'll update the instruction guide to be more specific, I apologize for any confusion. It's a thin coating which helps seal imperfections on imperfect gaskets. It's not really needed with new OEM gaskets, although you could. I do it on all metal gaskets out of habit.

Side note - if you have any questions in the moment during install, don't hesitate to call us or reach out to me via DM on Instagram. We want to make sure everything goes smoothly!

I used the Permatex Copper even with new OEM gaskets just because I didn't want any issues. I just laid a small bead around the whole gasket on both the manifold & exhaust gasket (yes you get the crap all over the place while installing...LOL) just to be safe. I was always told never to reuse a rubber or metal gasket when reinstalling parts.....not sure if it's an old wise tail or what but it's stuck with me since a little kid!
