What about protecting this now?
Is this stuff the right thing to use?

Because of the high temperatures, I doubt that any lubricant would last very long, but you can try it and see what happens. I think the key is to use the PSE button more frequently to prevent carbon buildup.

The valves are basically almost freed up, but can be sticky when closing the PSE valves when the exhaust is hot.
I went to Northway Porsche specialist. They sprayed “Wurth: Rost off Black” penetrating fluid. It’s rated to 450c. Testing on the way home, it valves seemed a bit more responsive.
They advised to continue spraying with it, and actuating by hand just to clear up any further build up.
WD40, that I linked in my last post, seemed to be the least effective, sometimes making it worse.

So after all the penetration fluid, the rod actually came apart from the ball joint cup end.
I used some JB Weld to put it back together about 3/4 months ago, and its working perfect ever since.
I think the rod and ball joint end must have been coming loose, and then made the valve not actually actuate fully. Which in turn caused the valve to gum up too.
