Default Porsche Wants My 911

So here's what Porsche NA sent me via email:

We are interested in your Porsche 911.

Dear Mr. XXXXX,

Given the care you have put into your Porsche, it may not come as a surprise to you that your local dealer is interested in your vehicle.

According to our records, your 2019 911 has the same impeccable quality and engineering integrity expected from a new Porsche vehicle. In short, it’s just as heart-stopping as the day you bought it. Well done.

If you are interested in selling your vehicle, please click below to login to the My Porsche portal with your Porsche ID account: XXXXXXX

(Link deleted)

We have recently added a new feature to My Porsche that allows you to notify your preferred authorized Porsche dealer, who will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Best Regards,

Your Porsche Team

Has anyone else gotten such a notice?

Has anyone gone through the process? Just curious as to how this worked through your dealer (my local dealer recently went into negative territory with a high oil change charge and a discussion as to why they added a gas additive without asking, when Porsche specifically states don't put any additives in the oil or gas).

The next question, if I were to sell my car, what to replace it with, as Macans, Cayennes or a $353k Turbo S aren't going to go on my must have list.

Everyone is getting these...

Just keep in mind it is a two year wait for a 992 and dealers are marking them above MSRP...
Cayman GTS 4.0L are marked up as well..
Can't get a GT4 or Spyder....period...

So basically you can't replace your 911 with another porsche.
Either sell and invest the cash, or let it sit in the bank and 8% inflation means your money is actually worth less.

Keeping your Porsche is actually a good thing, in a twisted way... normally cars are NOT investments.

Tempting at times but this will go away as eventually new cars become available. It is strange to get ads from the local dealer just for used cars. I am at a point where I want to keep my 2017 911 long term, but practicality means I should trade it in on something bigger to carry a car seat for a grandkid. Thankfully my daughter is advising me to keep the 911 for sure!

It seems that Porsche wants their cake and eat it too. They can’t produce enough cars and they want our help by buying our cars, making a profit on resale and then selling you one with ADM with a wait of months.

These are the same dealers that overcharge on service and now want our “help”.

FWIW, I was offered $3k less for my 981 GT4, less than a week after initial offer from the dealer where I initially purchased as CPO, due to "market adjustment" last November.

I haven't yet probably because I have a high mileage car, lol.

I'd absolutely consider it, as much as I like the 991 it's wildly impractical as a car. Could easily hop over into something like an E63 AMG wagon.

I wouldn't mind the wait if I get a deal, but there's no way I'm paying a premium for a new car.

yep. I've been searching for a B/C GTS 4.0 and found one that was coming into a reasonably close dealer. I emailed and they said "MSRP is 106k, we're asking 120k"

I didn't even reply.

These are BS deals. Porsche dealers want your low mileage 911 for a discount and they want to sell you a new 911 at MSRP or higher. Big fat profts both ways. Unless one is desperate for a new 911 or another Porsche, selling your current one for a new one doesn't make any sense to me.

I got the same from Mercedes for my wife’s AMG 63 CLC, and the same from Range Rover ….. both saying we value you and you can order a new car. Ha yeah right and wait and you want to pay me 15k less than what my cars are worth. I told them that and crickets from the sales guys. They’re using the service and sales data bases, sell your car and wait for a new car and tell you it’s over MSRP once you sold your car no thanks.

"Market Adjustment" is just another term for the Sales Manager needing to fund his next 5 star dinner plus tip.
