Scraped my headers!
I went under my car to change out the diverter values and noticed that my Vektor headers had a scrap on them. It was on the driver side, I was surprised to see it knowing I had been super careful going over bumps and driveways. I also thought the rear tires would lift up the back end and not cause a scrap. I am lowered on Bilstein coilovers and have 20” Carrera S wheels. I’m not too concerned about this and still love them. Just wanted to post because I’ve never seen anyone scrap them so far.

Uh oh, here comes the great header debate of 2018 again!

You just barely grazed it. It's not even through the ceramic
We've seen way worse, you should see what backing into a parking curb does!

Having lived the semi-low life before, my old FWD Nissan that I boosted, I scrapped the front crossmember supporting the engine and also the downpipe. And that was with double the stock spring rates. Nothing you can do with really big bumps except drive more slowly. Kinda hard to see those mid-corner sometimes when hustling though...

Yeah, this is why I'll be doing Soul headers instead of Vektor headers, if I even do headers at all. SPASM + winter driving + offroading, that ground clearance matters too much for me.

I don't think anyone else uses as large of a cat, or such a big outlet bend as we do, hence the beefy look
We did tweak the design some to provide more ground clearance. It's funny, we've got a Porsche specialty shop nearby; mostly resto mod and classic stuff. They claim headers scraping on 911s has been going on for 50 years. The pic of the scraped Kline headers Dark_horse posted shows that even a company that's been doing this for f-a-r longer than us is still not immune. Like anything, performance oriented products are going to favor the function parts of the form, fit, function formula, because that is their inherent goal. It's not for everyone, that that's the great thing about having choices

Vektor high flow cat? Looks beefy. Paired with Soul exhaust with anti-drone tubes? So how's the sound of it all together?
