Anyone download and activate the new app? Porsche sent an email announcing a new My Porsche App.

It looks like it integrates what was "Connect" and "Car Connect" via the PCM and promises that more functionality is in development . But it is entirely silent about it being free orf fee, and what Porsche will do with data it collects.

Thoughts?

 

I installed it, but haven't played with it yet. Hopefully it's a smoother experience than the last app.

 

I installed and messed with it. Works pretty well so far. Better than separate apps for sure!

 

What functionality does it provide?

 

Yeah. I googled it and there was only vague info posted.

 

It's pretty much the same as before. Useless. Hopefully more integration occurs to unify the three different apps for a single car...

 

Yeah, it's not that bad and more features are supposed to be added but does show some info. I'm not sure how much paying for connected services has to do with the info displayed. I do pay for all that stuff fyi....

I installed the App. Everything seems fine except the push notifications are not working.

I usually set a location alarm (pretty useful if leaving your car in one of those valet parking lots, if the car leaves the lot I receive a notification on my phone). This feature is not working with the new App.

Even deleted my previously set alarms, created new ones (that were "sent to the vehicle"), and still does not work for notifications to come through.

Anyone have any success with this feature?

It was working fine with the previous vodafone app, sucks to go backwards with technology!

 

The App contains a privacy page and allows the user to opt out by specifying that Porsche cannot share the user’s data with third parties.

 

This would be nice to know.
