just like the durametric, the .2 isn't "officially supported" by the piwis 2 but it'll still talk to it and do stuff. for oil change indicator resets, which is what the vast majority of rennlist DIYers need this for, it'll do that (and only at 6x the price of something like an icarsoft!)

It's worth it just to get the PIWIS 3. The cost difference is small when you compare the pre-loaded versions that come with laptops and you get much more compatibility (and a better interface with PIWIS 3).
I ordered a new correct ODB dongle and also purchased a new SSD with PIWIS 3 through a Rennlister who will help me with activation - each items will take a few weeks to get here, so fingers crossed I'll have it a version up and running soon.

I'm in Columbus,Ohio and did a DIY install my PSE and only paid $140 to activate it at the dealership and that included a call to Suncoast and time spent on an unsuccessful attempt to initialize a battery. This was three years ago but they spent two hours on it and only charged me for one. It sounds like the $450 is a major rip off and the PIWIS would pay for itself with a couple of trips to the dealership.
