991.2 C2 With 20" Wheels

In looking at CPO cars, I am surprised by the fact that many of the 991.2 C2's are equipped with the bigger wheels. And most do not have PSE. I am wondering if a dealer would switch wheels with another car and be willing to negotiate a good price for a PSE install ?
PSE is a must have for me and I find the 19" wheels better for Phila streets

Good luck.
With the supply and demand picture these days, I'd be astonished if you could even locate two 991.2's for sale, in these two configurations, let alone broker some kind of swap involving a PSE install.
My base C2 has 20" wheels as standard, which are fine for FL roads. And, I'm not a fan of PSE. So there's that.

When I started looking for a 911 in 2019, there were certain options and models on my desired list.
Quickly found out that unless you were willing to compromise you wouldn't find "your" car in the used market. Now the market is worse as to availability and pricing.
Ordered one to my spec, plus got a 7% discount, been happy ever since.
Good luck.

Buy an S, drive to Minnesota, and swap your S exhaust for my PSE exhaust. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
20" wheels were standard equipment in the US. Are you outside the US?

Oh, right, base Carrera. Forgot about that -- on the S, they are 20" standard.

I would think you could easily find someone, especially here on Rennlist, that has 19 inch wheels that would love to trade you for your 20s. I don't know if you can get a "deal" on PSE install but your dealer can easily do it for you. Or just go with an aftermarket exhaust once you get the car.

The car you want is going to be difficult enough to find, let alone trying to find one with 19" wheels.
Do yourself a favor and ignore the wheels that are on the car currently. Make sure it checks all the other boxes that you want to go get it.
Once you have it, you can easily change to 19" aftermarket wheels or pick up a set of used 19" Porsche wheels for cheap.
If you're located in Philly, then I understand exactly what you mean in regards to the roads. I'm about an hour outside of Philly and I still watch everything like a hawk.

Thanks, I'm at 75K miles and has been incredibly reliable for 10 yrs now (knock on wood). Never had anything major at all, just regular yearly maintenance.

Porsche did a good job calibrating the tire, wheel, spring and shock set up to make for a surprisingly decent ride on the 20"s. My sold Mercedes E550 cabriolet on 18" AMG wheels was a joke, worst car ever on CT roads. I've never tested the 19" wheels, but I would not run from a set of 20s.

You could get a set of custom 19" wheels also. Forged aluminum should be had for around $4500 and they could be custom offsets and widths.
A great combo would be 19x9 et 45 or et 40 (depending on how aggressive you'd like the fronts to sit) and 19x11.5 et 70. These offsets are for a narrow body 991.2. 991.1 would be a different rear offset.
Michelin makes the PS4S in 235/40-19, 245/40, 255/35 - all will work with a 9" wheel for the front. Rears you can go with a 295/35, 305/30, 315/30 - all will work with an 11.5" wheel as well.
I personally went with 11.5" rears instead of 12". I didn't see a need to go to 12" wide since the 315 tire that I'm running fits on the 11.5 no problem (not pinched at all) and it's a little lighter than the 12".

Dealer quoted me $5000+ for PSE up here a while ago. Had it on my first 991.2 and miss it....most of the time. Its fairly loud but you can turn it down.
